Double image repair video, please explain

Hi guys, just stumbled on a video on YT where they repair "double image" on LCD tv's by cutting some panel flat cable lines, anyone can explaint it to me why they do it? Only thought that gets into my mind is they cut some of the "data" lines and tv doesn't reproduce them on panel. But doesn't that lower the tv resolution i.e. some lines on lcd panel wont be displayed at all.

It must have some effect on reducing the screen resolution but that is the price you pay to have a watchable image.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Vizio V555-H1 - Horizontal lines then double image bursts

      Hi there,
I think it might be a bad panel but I thought I'd ask before I chuck it..

thin colored horizontal lines bottom and thin section on top. As it runs warmer, you can see some ghosting or double image. Right hand side of the screen darker then brighter (backlight is always on, so it's the actual LCD that gets darker and brighter)

Replaced the Main board, because I had one handy, no change.

Is it worth replacing TCON? disconnecting ribbon on one side of the panel, the lines appear still on the other side (unplugged side.)

Samsung UE55RU8000 reboot and then double image after heating up
      by Cornito
      Hello team,

I'm back with another tv and another problem.
I try to improve my knowledge on fixing TV, and all technics used until now are not fixing correctly the problem.

First, reboot issue, I use tape Method to find out the right side that cases the issue.
Then using this it's working for quite 1hour30, then at some point of time the image became double on the bottom for half the screen.
Then double image reduce in height and move to the top.
The image is like folded on around 1cm and the bottom has been moved to the top by 1cm.
      When I...

Vizio V585-J01 dancing lines and image doubling
      by x_orange90_x
I got this tv yesterday and it shows a screen full of colored vertical bars and horizontal lines that move, change, and dance around. When the set is powered on there is a slight buzz from the tcon. I removed one ribbon at a time and this was the result:

Right side connected, left side disconnected = half image on right (somewhat distorted, see photo attached) white screen on left. NO buzzing from TCON

Left side connected, right side disconnected = right side black, left side white with distorted horizontal lines near top of screen. Buzzing from TCON

      I swapped...

Sharp (Hisense) LC-55p6050u - Flashing/dimming row of pixels
      by DrvLikHell
Hello again! I have come back for some wisdom and hopefully for some guidance with this problem I'm having. The TV is a 4k 55" Sharp LC-55p6050u and the problem is every other line of the bottom 32 lines flickers out, comes mostly back, then flickers out again, and repeats this continually. The lines on the bottom right of the screen go out completely while the lines on the bottom left are affected so slightly that it's almost impossible to see it. There is a gradual gradient from appearing almost perfectly fine on the bottom left, to an obvious problem on the bottom right.

      The...

Strange LG TV issue : Image vertical lines in black screen
      by Ancient1
      Hi

      Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

      Thanks !...
