Also as I said to you replace the screws with lock washer type and resolder the ground pads as they get corroded and burnt.

Haha i know. I got like 5 or 6 TNPA5349 boards laying here with all same problem.

Im waiting for a good supplier so i can order the parts. Ps Flocko , can i use RJP30H2A instead of the normal IGBT's on this board?

You can use 30F131 to sub the DG320 for about 30 seconds lol then you will need to replace it but I guess if you have loads you can test the Tv briefly.

yeah i have loads of 30F131 that are probably fake....
I also got a lot of RJP30H2A that are in the newer sets by panasonic. I was wondering if i can use those instead of the 30F131. Don't want to blow up the board again , would be a shame if those smaller ic's die.

Or i could just try 1 board as a test board to see what works!

No i havent but i do know that you can use both in the TNPA5335 boards , thats why i was wondering if it would also work in these boards.

RJP30H2A has a higher rating as does FGD4536. The fairchilds are smaller and look out of place but they work.

I've used both in place of the Toshiba.

Thanks TW2005 , i'll try those in the 5349 boards and see if it works.

Any luck yet with the supplier and did you find any good suppliers?

All I know so far is my contact said she could not find GT30F131 on their list.

"This part is no longer in our product master.
It might be a discon part.
Let me investigate and let you know tomorrow."

You would expect with the demise of Panasonic PDP that production of these parts is obsolescent.

I have used the Fairchild FGD4536 to repair three 5349 and two 5335 boards so far this week. one set been running from midday Monday? I will call it fixed tomorrow after three days and as TW says they are better rated. we are both waiting to hear more from Toshiba, after you get your head around the size thing with the fairchild units they work and seem to be in good supply and cheap. so whats not to like, I wont be wasting my time trying to find good 30f131, with the work I do ,I need to be able to just fit parts that I know I can trust

You're going to need to check the drivers too. Disconnect the Y-sus from the drivers and then check from each of those connection pins to floating ground. The pinout changes based on model/series but you should have three that read in the mega-ohms or kilo-ohms on each connector.

Also, to verify a short on the Y-sus you can check the pins leading into the Y-sus from the power supply.

Check the chassis grounds on the Y-sus; they're probably nearly void of solder, resolder those.

thanks Brian I am still working out how to disconnect the buffers on a SN board (hacksaw) Buffers are tested to test point VFG and ribbon connectors with meter set to low ohms (200) any reading that show on meter will be faulty

Exactly what I do on these always resolder the ground points where the screws go into.
