Samsung led UN40EH5300 RED LIGHT BLINKING 5 TIMES

Smart tv Samsung it has a 5 times red ligth blinking code...I check power and is ok.... I disconnect the main from the power and leds turn on so now I know is not the power, but the main board...like to see of I can trouble shoot the main or if someone find a problem in this sets.....

Let me know what you find. I'm having the same problem. I already spent $20 on a power board. I guess my problem started right before yours though so I didn't think of that.

If you remove the cable between the mainboard and the power supply and you turn on the tv and the backlight turns on then you know its the mainboard or t-con.

FIRST try and use a hair dryer and heat up the power supply and turn it on. The 5 blinks will stay but it might turn on eventually. I had that once with a samsung led.

Personally i think you probably have bad bga solder under the cpu. It's a small cpu and they all suffer the same problem. CPU is really thin and gets really hot. That in combination with a small heatsink causes this problem.

What you can do is use some flux and put it under/around the cpu. Remove the heatsink and use a heat gun for 3/4 minutes on the cpu. ( around 1.5cm distance ).
Let it cool and see if the tv wil turn on ......

I fixed a UE40D5000 this way. ( Twice )

Thanks. I looked up the process. It's called reflow, right? Do you need flux?
