    LG 42LH3000 Tcon question

Hi, i have bleaching (fading to white after a few mins) and from everything I've learned it's likely a t-con as15 chip issue (at least it seems that's what i should replace first)

I was wondering about a section of the model numbers and if anyone has suggestions for a decent supplier, even a decent chinese supplier.

    My numbers are as follows.

    42T06-C03 - 55.42T06.C16 - T420HW04 V0 CTRL BD

I was wondering how important is the c16 part and what does it mean? I got the impression it might be a software thing as lts of suppliers don't seem to issue that part, especially the chinese manufacturers like taishun on ebay.
Does it matter that much and if so how come lots of manufacturers don't list them? Also, what does the c03 part mean?
Would greatly appreciate any help on this as i don't have the tools to solder a new chip but ensuring i get the right t-con or at least a good one is proving difficult.

    Thanks guys.

The serial is on the board is 42T06-C03 T420HW04 V0 CTRL BD

serial on label is UT 55.42T06.C16 - 013. Was just wondering about the c16 and the 013.

I guess i managed to actually stump the board. I guess c16 is a revision and not that important and the 013 is just a batch number or something.
Does anybody at least know what other tcons are compatible with an lg42lh3000?

If you are looking for a board replacement I think the 42T06-C03 number is the one to use to make your order.

The part number of this board is shown on the white bar code sticker 5542T06C16 with board type being T420HW04 VO (Sticker part number should match for it to work correctly)Substitute Part(s):
              55.42T06.C19 55.42T06.C09 55.42T06.C15 55.42T06.C20 55.42T06.C14 55.42T06.C13 55.42T06.C12 55.42T06.C17

                As flocko says.

If you want a cheap fix then replace the AS15 chip. Don't forget to check if it's a F / G chip.

                  Re: LG 42LH3000 Tcon question

Thank you all. I managed to find a C16 so i got that. Very last question is does anyone know why chinese manufacturers of these boards don't list the C16/C17/C18 etc part?
They all say 42T06-C03 and T420HW04 V0 CTRL BD but never list the C16 or substitute parts. Does anybody know why??

Thanks for the information and i won't bother anyone with anymore questions. I was just curious if one of those chinese boards would work with my TV without any mention of the C16 part. Just seems kind of weird and can't figure out if that stands for something to do with the software like a revision or something.

                  Cheers guys.

the different C1X number is going to be a version of eeprom on the TCON, it wont hurt anything to put a 16 or whatever of that series in, it will distort the picture if wrong

Thanks guys, i managed to find a part with the correct eeprom number so all is good. At least i know i can potentially try a chinese tcon without having to worry too much about that part.

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                          by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                          by Hakuu
                          Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                          Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                          by alltvrepairs
                          Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                          Appreciate your help....
