Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
Ok , looks like the backlight is on , is that correct? If so the leds and powersupply are working.
It looks like a mainboard issue to me. Tried updating the firmware and see if you get a picture?I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!Comment

Search the exact model and download the firmware. You need a usb flashdrive.
They provide instructions how to update the tv. Not sure if it will work but it MIGHT give a picture......

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
This tv is outside under my Palapa and last Thursday I went outside to watch football and it was flashing. I unplugged it for a minute or so and then it worked. Friday evening noticed it flashing again but nothing I do seems to get it working.Comment

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
Ok , you don't think it has water damage? ( moist air? )
Service manual says 13 blinks is the mainboard. Maybe the cpu has bad BGA Soldering , hard to find out though.
Can you try the following?
LCD Panel Test Mode Purpose:
To find the possible failure point where in LCD Panel or Printed Circuit Board when the abnormal picture is displayed.
How to Enter:
While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button of the main unit, press [YELLOW] button of the remote control three times.
How to Exit:
Switch off the power with the [POWER] button on the main unit or the [POWER] button on the remote control.
How to confirm:
If the abnormal picture is displayed, go into LCD Panel test mode to display the several test patterns. And then, judge by the following method.
Still abnormal picture is displayed: The cause must be in LCD Panel.
Normal picture is displayed: The cause must be in A board.
Remarks:
The test pattern is created by the circuit in LCD Panel.
In LCD Panel test mode, this test pattern is displayed unaffected by signal processing for RF or input signal. If the normal picture is displayed, LCD Panel must be okay and the cause of failure must be in A board.I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! This is the service manual for the AS650. Don't think there is much difference between those 2 models though. Maybe extra hdmi/usb for example.I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!Comment

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
I don't think there is any water damage. I had it on a surge protector but we have had some heavy storms lately. I don't have the remote control I typically use the Direct Tv remote and if I have an app on my phone and ipad to control it. Where can i buy an A board? Is it cheaper to just replace the tv?Comment

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
Nah you need to buy the A board. There is a board number on it TNPH......
Just look on Ebay , they are not that expensive. $50/60 i guess.I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!Comment

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
Hi, picking this t-shoot up again. have this set and does not work (why else would i be here!). plug it in, hear relays click in, then out, a moment later it clicks back in. does not respond to remote. remote is transmitting (observed via mobile phone camera). hold on/off button on rear of set for about five seconds, i hear the relay click, the leds come on, the red power light comes on and there is no picture, but the screen is a dark blue. still does not respond to remote. does not respond to reset (-volume + setup on remote). five minutes later it shuts down. No trouble codes - no flashing power button. Have checked +5, +16 & +24 - all good. Removed and reseated all connectors. Is there any way to trouble shoot this thing?

update to previous -
Updated information. After the unit shuts down after the approximate 5 minutes of on-time, sometime after that it starts flashing the power led - 13 times. AND, I can turn the unit back on with the remote - but still the same blue screen - and no further responses to the remote. it then shuts off after another five minutes.Comment

Re: Tc-55as680u steady blink
Hi Guys,
I have the same model build date is Feb 2015. My symptoms are a steady blink from the power light and nothing else. One blink 3 seconds one blink. I have the back off and it has 5V standby power but not the 16V to the main board. When I plug it in here is a black relay that clicks the backlight LEDs flash a couple of times and then clicks again which is when the power light starts flashing again. I am assuming this is a protection relay. When it clicks the first time (I assume on) I get the 16V at the jumper that says SRV 16V. I did disconnect the T-con board and the protection relay still clicked on and off. I am not sure if disconnecting the T-con board isolates the LEDs as the original poster had LED issues causing a similar problem. I hope this is enough to get started and someone is willing to help. Can someone help me isolate this problem?
My skills are mostly self taught and I have been repairing old audio amplifiers and receivers stuff like Marantz Sansui etc so this is all solid state stuff. I have little or no experience with LCD TVs. I certainly do have a multimeter, solder station, Chinese component tester etc.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

by cheeky2For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM - Loading...
