Sony KDL 60EX720. 5 blinks, replaced tcon already. ONLY have 3.3V standby

    PICTURES FIRST!!!!
Hello! So as the title says, I have a Sony KDL 60ex720 that I got for free. I have spent 60 dollars on it already for the replacement tcon and it still did not work. I cant really test the panel cause it wont turn on or anything so I cant see if that is damaged. I do have 3.3v standby voltage but NOTHING else at the pins. I was wondering if anyone could assist me on where else I SHOULD be getting power on those pins with only having the power cord attached. I would think I should be getting 12v of power for the TCON or other pins. My mind is telling me that maybe the Main power board is not putting out power to the TCON and maybe that's why its saying the TCON is bad?? I am pretty much at a stand still from here. I am not super great at reading schematics but I can do the super minimal basic stuff like trace where something is coming from, but not so good at "if this does this then I should get this at this point with this much power" ext. Hoping some people with knowledge on TV sets could assist me!
If anymore pictures or numbers are needed please let me know and as soon as I can I will reply with any information needed! Thank you all!!

I had a similar issue with a Led 50 inch and turned out to be the main board. If I disconnected the power connector from the mainboard the tv turned on with backlight but no picture (obviously). I replaced the main board with one I ordered from overseas from a smashed one and worked perfectly fine except it would not tune into Australian channels as the board was Canadian etc.I just told the customer to use a set top box with it and they were fine with that.

If you have 3.3V STBY voltage, but the TV doesn't turn on, you obviously have a main board problem. There is probably nothing wrong with the old Tcon you just replaced.

Other than that it is hard to tell anything else, because we can't see your boards. So we need straight shot, high resolution pictures of your boards.

          Are my pictures not working?
Or do you need better pictures? If you need better (non-cellphone) pictures, I will break out the nice camera tonight and take as many detailed hi-res shots as I can.

Also! when you both say MAIN BOARD are we talking the main power board (G6A) or like the main processor board one (BATV) ??

Yeah they are working, but the main board (that's the board with the main processor) is not there. Also its better we can see the whole board, not only parts of it and maybe one of the whole back side of the TV, so we can see how everything is connected together.

pictures do show for me when you click on the link but yes the more pitures the better the main board is the one usually with the scart/hdmi sockets on can you upload one picture of the back of the tv showing how all the boards are connected etc. once we see all the pictures we can help/advise more then.

Edit capleaker beat me too posting this

5 blinks are blocking VDC of Panel, sorry to tell your panel may shorted, check the ribbon cable from T-CON to Panel which forward VDC of any shorts at Panel tabs.

I would do that.. but I only get 3.3 standby voltage. I am either testing wrong, or I simply am not getting any voltage anywhere else.

you are of sure testing after main boards give error 5 blinking and shut down the power supply, as MB control all to turn on either T-CON ON. if you plug out the ribbon cable from T-CON to Panel. and put yours DMM black probe on chassis and red one on 12 V at socket CN6101 and plug the TV at wall socket, you will find the 12 DC first and then drooping down.

between you should put back the socket CN6102 in its place !!!

Okay.... so bad news. I went to do the test again for the 12v at CN6101 and yes I plugged in the CN6102 back in :p. No 12volts. only one that has a constant is the 3.3v standby. also! the red led no longer blinks. No 5 blinks or anything. All I have now is a slight hum sound of the Power board.

dont worry it may good news now you have slight hum sound at PWB, do the following, always let the panel disconnected from T-CON for any further test.

disconnect CN6102 and check you will be back to 5 blinking.. , and inspect the DPS 78 Boards, Back light power boards , the Transformer T6601 look burned at your photo, or had high temperature. take the boards out and take look under side.. we need to narrow the short circuit.

Okay I did what you said, Took off TCON connectors. Took of CN6102. Still no blinks, NO LED lights at all anymore. T6601 is GOOD, its T6201 that looks a bit damaged. Do you know what the numbers should be at each terminal?

i don't think T6201 damage. either no idea what you did to lost the led blinking .. we need now start from Zero to test, first test PWB, disconnect socket CN6101, connect STD 3.3 to Pin No 1 Power ON, tell us if you have any 12 volts there... never... never do this test and your main boards connected to PWB via CN6101.

If I am understanding you correctly, You want me to Put my meter on Pin 10 (stand by 3.3v) and Pin 1 (Power on) ??? I get 4.2vdc.
I will tell you this as well.
                                    CN6001 - 120VAC

VD6001 - I DONT KNOW HOW TO TEST THIS
                                    D6001 - AC (CENTER PINS I GET 120) DC (OUTSIDE PINS I GET 160VDC)

Put the TV back together and start at square one. Measure voltages on all the pins between PSU and main board, TV on, TV off and post the results with the corresponding pin out name. So we know what happens. Check the STBY voltage pin and the PSon pin. Set your DMM to DC V, put your black lead to the GND pin or any GND point on the secondary side of the PSU and probe with the red lead the other pins I mentioned.
