Re: Panasonic SC Board - BAD 30F131 IGBTs

Thought I would fit the Chinese components to the sc boards and run some tests, whilst I wait for delivery from Rs components. No short found at sc2. No short found at q102 on the ss board. Fitted sc board and isolated both Su an sd boards. Fitted jumper, connected sc2 and sc20. Powered up, now showing 8 blinks. Checked s2 again. Open cct in one direction 320ohms in the other. Direct short between pin 3 on sc2 and ground and open between pin 1 and ground. Any Ideas?

Update, checked the ribbon,sc20 connector. Re-powered and the sc board failed again.

Why are you persisting with potentially crap parts. Keep it up if you want extra stuff to fix. My TV last about 3 boards in succession with fake parts blowing instantly on the 4th it blew open the P2 track for Vsus to the SC board which resulted in 7 blink once I got the board fixed properly..

I think if sc20 is disconnected it gives 8 blinks,

Yes I take your point especially regarding the Chinese components, though I thought the UK ones would have been ok. I will wait for the alternate parts to arrive. I have spent a lot of time reading various posts on here and am wondering whether I should replace the drivers (BD8693) and corresponding transistors (CPH5524). I looked at a schematic and it looks as though I would need to replace 3. The transistors can be bought through rs but I can't find a local supplier for the drivers, only Chinese suppliers. Do you know of a supplier and what's your opinion on replacing them. On a seperate post, a person had the same issue, all ok till he connected sc20 ribbon then bang. Replaced drivers and blown components and all good. I appreciate your feedback

This extract has some good info and shows how to check the driver ICs, It works as I used it once on a board the driver did quit after several blowups and I think needed the ccph5524 and 10 ohm resistor too I think

Thanks tw, the extract was helpful. Drivers seem ok, though Q501 and Q521 seem suspect to me. Will double check tomorrow when not so tired. You posted a link on testing them somewhere can't find it at the present. Can you tell me what diode you use to replace DAF30A, (DA3DF30A)? Can only find Chinese suppliers, same with the drivers BD8693. Thanks.

Have never had to replace that diode

Tw2005, have you ever sourced ic's bd8693fvm? I have managed to source most components through Farnells and Rs but can only find chineses suppliers for these.

The ic 501 from chinese suppliers are ok. I ordered them from aliexpress and ebay and they are all ok. Same for the 5 legged transistor.

DAF30 shows short because the other parts are short. Remove the 6 bad fets and you will see its not short anymore.
Dont order any 30f131/rjp30h2a from china , they will blow up the board and if you try it to many times you will see the traces get dark.....

The BD8693 on eBay/ Aliexpress or from any were else, if the images do not match with the originals, do not buy them, looking at all the ones listed on Ebay, only one shows the correct markings the rest did not. as for the transistor arrays only buy the ones showing the correct 3Y marking as we know the Y02 marking can also be found on a component that is completely wrong.

Unfortunately, the photos in the listings don't always represent what you receive. Sellers don't always update their photos to show what they actually have in stock. I'm sure most people here, at one time or another, will agree that they have received parts that have different markings or pre-bent leads that were different from the photos. Sure, you can file a claim, but I went ahead and use them anyway and fortunately the parts I've gotten have worked with no problems. It can be a real crap shoot when dealing with these overseas sellers.

When I say If the images in the listing dont match the original. I mean the printed part number, they do not look anything like the original in layout,so its a good bet they are not (if you cannot be asked to fake the printing right how good are the parts going to be). so stay clear of them

I used them from e best trade also. They have the same "stamp" as the originals. Little dot in the left bottom corner. Do yours look the same as on the board?

I am missing 1pc. DG302 for repair TNPA5349 and I just replaced it with RJP30H2A...same U and Ipk and bigger Ptot....
On RJP30H2A Ic is lower but Ptot is what kills this transistors(Ipk=250A for both).
on older PANA plasmas on this switching place is RJP30H2A...
                                          ...so far so good...it's working....:-)
Did someone try that??...any info please?
Will order DG302 but customer wants TV tonight...:-)
