these are the RJP30H2 I've got and working well. Note the exposed copper on the cut corners. I find the original 30F131 also has this but the fakes are tinned and smooth.

I've compared these to the original ones I've pulled and they match up well including the ground feint ridge on either edge

Thx TW2005 , good to know. I will check my big box of RJP30H2A , see if the corners are cut.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Mine are all cut off on the corner but no copper. So all my RJP30H2A are fakes....

Maybe but if they work I would not get too stressed. I'm just noting what I am seeing does not mean I'm right though, just a theory.

Compare an original to it and see how they compare

Hi, I am having issues with a panasonic tnpa5335 sc board and hoping for some advice. I ordered a repair kit from the UK as well as replacement components from China. I fitted the UK kit, and with no short across SC2 I powered it up. Board failed immediately and after investigation found Q401 (30f131) had a direct short. I replaced Q401 and board failed again. SD and SU boards test ok. Any ideas as to where to next?

What worries me is the missing details.

If Q401 is short, 402 and 403 also would have to read short and if any of those shorted then it's pretty much assured Q421,422,423 are also shorted.

Before you even started on this board what was shorted in the beginning?

Yes correct, quick rundown. TV made a pop sound then went into 7 blink mode. Tested sc board, direct short at sc2 connector. Sd and Su boards tested ok. Ordered repair kit and replaced q401, 402,403,421,422,423. D401 & 421. Q531 & ic502. No short found at sc2. Refitted board and instantly failed. Showing direct short at sc2 again. And 7 blink mode.

Just lifted the legs on q401,402,403,421,422,423 And d401,421. They are all shorted.

                    Ok, normally the diodes survive.

You could assume the parts may have been bad in which case you could order 10 FGD4536 from RS components and use them for q401,402,403,421,422,423 .

they will do the job and they are smaller but will solder in fine

If they blow then you have other issues or bits missed

Could you give the name of the UK seller you got the kit from, there are a lot of fake parts being sold in kits over here.my advice would be dont buy them. iI get boards sent to me for repairs all the time, most after buying IGBTs or kits from eBay,only to see the IGBTs blow on power up

fgd4536 are working fine on my boards too - instead of 30f131, dg301, rjp30...

I found 25 pcs on a private near my town a few months ago, at 35euros for all of them, and bought them. I used them and all worked fine. Now I am out of stock, and still waiting for the package from china (100 pcs). will see if they are ok. (I am a little worried)

meanwhile, I received 6pcs 30f131 from panasonic service, and repaired a sn board from a P42GW30, and it is working perfect (non stop since yesterday). the funny thing is that they still have these on stock! i can take a some photos with the packaging from panasonic, and the 30f131 piece if you want. the tv is still open.

This is the site I purchased the kit. Seemed ok to deal with.

Will do, will order them today and see how it goes. What method do you use for fitting to to the board? I have seen a number of recommendations from using solder paste and heat pencil to soldering iron on the tab till solder melts. Either method creates a lot of heat to the component. The legs are the easy part.

OK thanks. If you have already reassembled he TV that would be good.

If you can get the old ones off, you'll find putting these ones on an absolute piece of piss.

I fully dewick the pads, dab of flux and you're in business as the tab draws so much less heat from the iron it's a breeze.

If you have hot air you can use that to preheat the board a bit but I hand solder the transistors in.

Just a further note, when the tv originally failed, I mentioned I heard a loud pop noise before it went into the 7 blink fault mode. I expected that I would see an obvious sign of a failed component, cap etc. Thoughts?

They all go pop not that I get to experience that except when I get shit parts. Unless it is violent enough to blow the head off a transistor you won't see a thing.
