Got this older 42" Samsung here, I recently recapped the set as it had some bad ones, which sorted the mass amounts of mal-discharge on the screen. However even after pressing the off button the Tv doesn't shutdown properly and the PDP stays primed up.
The motherboard and Tcon turn off (you can hear the melody going off and the standby light comes on) but the screen stays primed up. Found Vs and Va to be up constant for some reason. Vs on always on for some reason even when the rest of the set is in standby which it should not be.
Simple fix, the 5.3v adjustment pot was turned up all the way to 8v, after turning it back down to 5.3v exact the set turns off and all voltage rails collapse when the set is put into standby and the screen goes off.
Odd one here but sorted, there was no sign of the owner tampering with the set either so that was odd how that happened. Video of the recap coming soon.
