I have this Emerson led tv (lf501em5f) I plug the tv to ac and it comes on normaly I shot off with remote or buttons on the tv and alone without not pressing any button comes on alone......and stays on normally, it can be turn off only if plug out from ac.....eeprom problem....this tv had a power supply electrical surge burn so I replace it from (BA3AUOF0102-3) TO (BA3AU0F0102-2). This could be a problem on why is not going off...sometimes when it is a while on like an hour or two it turn off and it wI'll go off but I try to turn on and it wont let me until I unplug the ac cord and re-plug it again it starts on it self...

If you had an electrical surge, then it's probably damaged the main board as well. The symptoms you are describing scream of a main board issue. An eeprom may address the issue but I've had little luck on these Funai boards with simple eeprom swaps. Seems like more times than not it's a bigger problem than that. -

The set is runing good for an hour almost since I posted the thread here.....now is 4:14 pm central time and I turn off and back in on, and it won't turn on either with button or remote......I disconnect and it will wok just fine until i turn off......Comment

I was thinking about eeprom since shopjimmy is selling one for this model tv and it said that if has this type of problem that's should fix it( red ligth and won't power on with remote or buttons and red light is present). But I will shoot to mainboard to replace it. Since sometimes turns on it self, other times I turn off,it will come on again and other thing is that I turn off and would come on again if I press power in remote or tv buttons. Those three symptoms it what is doing.Comment

You probably right on the eeprom. You can try to freeze it (can of air upside down) and see if the TV behaves correctly. However this Emerson stuff is made so cheap and the boards are really cheap to get.Comment

When i fully shut off mac, orange light goes off and wont react to power button. I have difficult time resetting with combination "shift+control+option and power button", because it rarely works (reason unknown), when i manage to get orange light and then press power button macbook wont turn on and orange light goes off. When i hold combination with power button it turns on, and works fine if put it to sleep mode.
Works with battery and charges, but when i shut off i get this problem.
It had liquid spill. Board has no corrosion, keyboard is working, power button... -
Issue: Emerson lf501em5f turns on, shows logo, then briefly shows what input it is on, then goes black.
Solution: Bad LEDs. In my case, there were 2. This repair may not be worth it unless you're doing it for yourself. I'm personally not a fan of Emerson TVs nowadays. -
Earlier this week I got an Emerson LF501EM5F that turns on, the logo comes up, a menu and the channel box come on and it immediately shuts down a split second later.
This was bought new and went in a Laundromat. From there it was on from 7AM to 10PM every day.
So why is this the perfect storm? A month ago I got an Emerson LF501EM4 and an EM4A, both will not turn on. The EM4A was struck by lightning and has a serial of DS1 The EM5F has a serial of DS5. The EM4 has a DS4 serial and the chirping transformer problem with a replaced power supply.

Complaint: Power button on back unresponsive when TV is off
Remote turns TV on and off
Once TV is ON, power button responds and turns set off.
Attributes: Voltage drop upon power button activation present at pin 128 of IC3101 number MSD8220LB1-S1 and was 3.29V high and 0V low. An open source datasheet for this IC could not be found
Repair applied: Replace main board. Successful replacement of IC3101 would have achieved the same result.
Further notes: The used main board on-hand had SMD CAP C3214... -

I'm new to the forum and I have a TV that is giving me trouble. As the title suggests, I have an Emerson LF501EM5F that I can't seem to turn on but the standby LED is lit when plugged in. I have searched Google and other posts on this forum but to no avail.
I did some basic troubleshooting, however I admit I have limited knowledge: I examined both the power board and main board for any abnormalities such as blown caps or burn marks but both boards are in really good shape.
