Re: Samsung PN60E6000GF 60" Smart TV turns off, red flashing power light
I hooked the board back in out of curiosity and it's been on for 30+ minutes playing the movie off a USB. Weird that I am technically 2/2 with it working when the back plate is off. I just don't imagine anything could be shorting, plus I would assume a short would mean instant on/off, vs being on for 2 minutes.
--Edit--
Movie finished and it is still on. I may try to screw the back cover and leave it on the ground and see.
Re: Samsung PN60E6000GF 60" Smart TV turns off, red flashing power light
You are not contending with a short ! An intermittent open connection is more likely.
Next step is to scrape clean the black off the ground connects on the solder side....
The broken circle contacts where the mounting screws hold the PC board in place.
I can clearly see in your pix ! All should be shiny...re-test after you do this step and
if it does not fix, we will go to the next step.
Next = re-solder QS804,QS802,QM805 and DX852.
Re-test.
I did both of your steps and have the TV playing the movie again; good so far. I would have to say QS804 definitely looked like it needed a touch up. Will update after I let the movie play through and put the back on and retest. Thanks
I do believe this to be plasma(correct?) so there is no T-con board.
Lot's of 60" and 64" plasma's from samsung suffer from bad solder joints on the power supply.Take a good look at all the components on the heatsinks. Sometimes it's really hard to see if they are cracked or not.
Read post #3 cough cough.
