Image is not actual but is exactly what this set has and same location.
As most would know any vertical lines is usually a good sign the panel is shot due to the ICs on the bottom ribbons being cooked.
This TV was advertised "Working condition although need to replace a bulb inside thats why theres a black streak on screen when watching tv."
Of course I'm thinking horizontal or the SC was about to let go.
Anyway I get there and it's the big black vertical which i mentioned was not repairable but they were adamant it was just a bulb

disappointed but not the end of the world.
Since parts for these are not available and especially the SD & SU boards I've got my moneys worth there alone. So all boards are good.
Could prove useful even as a test mule for SC,SD, SU board repairs.
She, who I never obey is not so impressed If I keep it for that

Just for those who ask is there a way to check if a panel is shorted, I disassemble it enough to get the C2 board out. gave that a good inspection, nothing found, all contacts are clean and the pure black bar does indicate that ribbon is effectively off.
So I went through the schematics and found te GND and 3.3V lines for the offending connector CB5.
then matched those locations to the panel ribbon, ohmed that out and came back with 9.6ohms. All the others I check went into Megohms, so clear cut shorted out panel ribbon.
Saved me swapping boards out in hope. Such a waste, done a mere 5700 hrs and yes the screws were loose. Att least 2 were so loose they were not making contact
