Re: UE55JU6870 transport damage question (moved)
Looks like the panel is damaged but not broken. Tear it down to the frame and try pressing on the tabs. Also be very careful to get them side drivers back in and not rip them off. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Yes they do, theres alot of Pixels to manage, GIG drivers would be hard to do with 4k so they have them on the side. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Anyone Doing So Will Be Banned Instantly !

by rblack711Relatively new to TV repair - as you will see. Rescued this TV from the curb. No backlights, but I could see an image on LCD with flashlight, so suspected bad LED strips. When I got to the part of lifting the LCD off the frame, it was stuck a little bit from some tape used to hold down a thin layer of foam around the frame. I saw 8 tabs on each side of the LCD that I haven't seen on any of the 3 TVs that I have taken apart before. I immediately thought, wow the engineers that designed this were thinking about the serviceman when they put these lift tabs on here - good for them. So I started yanking...

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by Joel OhanaHi,
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IAU7 that suffered water damage. It doesn't turn on (white power light flashes when on button pressed), and the amber light flashes when plugged in.
Symptoms:- Short detected – sparks appear when touching the charging port connection with board with a metal (even a multimeter probe).
- Visible damage – after cleaning corrosion, I found 4 possibly burnt memory chips near PC3165, labeled UD5, UD6, UD7, and UD8.
What are my next steps to diagnose and possibly repair it without replacing the entire board? Any guidance would be greatly... -

by mon2Hi. Recently serviced a damaged A1466 Macbook Air. Thought to post the issues and resolution for each.
Macbook AIR Model A1466 Diagnostic 09-01-2021
Issue: Liquid damaged (beer spill) Macbook AIR will not power up.
Problems & Resolutions
1) Attached Apple magsafe power adapter. No green / no orange light. This confirms the absence of the PP3V42_G3H voltage rail. The PP3V42_G3H rail is the primary voltage rail necessary to communicate with the magsafe power adapter to report the green or orange light status to the end user....09-01-2021, 09:31 AM - Loading...
