If I do the input and volume - keys I get a blue V on the base of the tv by the logo, but no change on the actual display. I have tried every combination of keys with no change.

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-52LE700UN No Sound No Picture

To recap I have backlights but no display or sound on board 1. I figured it was a software issue since there were no error codes and using the vol - and input key it would illuminate the blue V on the bottom of the tv indicating it was going into programming mode. The power measurements seemed good compared to the posted chart on page 8-2 of the guide. (Included in an earlier post)
I purchased another board that was supposed to be new. I downloaded and extracted the files the guide said I needed to replace a board with. plugged in the usb stick. and plugged in the tv. the blue V lights up directly but I now do not have any backlights. I Can not see a display and still no sound.

OK, new readings with board 2. Also still no fault codes.

        Still no sound.
        Still no image at all.
Board 1 has back lighting but no blue V at the bottom of the tv.
Board 2 has no back lighting but does have a blue V at the bottom of the tv.

Can a t-con board take out sound?

I don't think you answered / solved the question of your gnd measurements. Further when you attempted to update the firmware, how long did you leave the set in this mode? what happened with any visual indicators on the board or TV? How are you starting up the set... I don't think you will get fault codes flashing if you are using any sequence other than just "plain powering up".... cause you are going into a "forced mode" if you are using other sequences.

It does zero out and I rechecked all measurements with different ground placements. They were almost exact if not exact.

I forgot to put a decimal in the 1.92 measurement.

The red heartbeat blinked once every second.

Board 1 will start and turn on the back lights but will not display anything. No blue V at the bottom of the screen. In forced start up the blue V will turn on but still no display.

Board 2 will start and the blue V will turn on by itself but the back lights will not turn on and there is no display even with additional light added. Forced startup is no different.

There has never been any error codes.

There is still something wrong with the setup / technique or otherwise. The ground is now gone "-"... IF you are measuring the exact same technique, this is not possible unless there is a significant circuit issue or meter error (replace your batteries in the meter). Further, the "ps-on" signal appears to be a "little light" (I think) which might mean that the power supply isn't fully on (not sure what the operating state would be).

Have you done some power supply board "internal checks"... diodes, "sub voltage values" (ie. near components), etc...

                  Changed the Main board/input board.
Post #9 original board, checked 3 times.

Update. Bought t-con board for $15 as a why not try. t-con board gave me half a display. I was able to change the inputs at that time to get sound and a partial picture. I installed the second board to discover it was faulty. The second board would not turn on the back lights still. However, I did at least have sound and a dark picture. As on now I have my original power and input board back in it and I am trying to determine if my second t-con board is faulty or if there is damage to the display that ruined the first t-con board.

original input and power boards. 2nd t-con board.
I tried pressing on the tabs. I tried freeze spay on the board and the tabs. No change in display. I swapped the ribbons to make sure it wasn't a ribbon fault also.

hmmm... that looks like the tcon cable on the right side in the picture is not connected. I don't like the vertical lines on the left.

On the bottom of the panel, are there multiple edge boards along the bottom of the panel that are connected to the panel with how many tabs? If there are multiple boards (2 per "side" maybe ... hoping). Check the interconnect ribbons ("u" like cables) if there are... possibly one is not connected / clamped properly.

found the issue on the lower board left side. Maybe water damage? I tried to make some connections to see if it could work. I watched the magic smoke leave the board.

                                    - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                    - it keeps rebooting
                                    - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                    - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
                                    ...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound

                                    Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                                    Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                    Symptom:
                                    No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                    No sound at all.

                                    What I tried:
                                    1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
