I still do not know which one that show <1 Ohm reading if they are shorted that you are referring to.

Do I measure between the 2 outside legs or a middle and outside?

Are we talking about MOSFET, right?
Look up the spec sheet of the MOSFET to locate Pin 'S (Source)' and pin 'D (Drain)'.

The number on the part is sd20n60. Middle leg is labeled D and the one to the right of it is labeled S.

By the way the fuse is t4ah250vp. Seems to not be available from Amazon UK. Or a Chinese site I'm not sure I trust.

The mosfet on Q8101 reads 1.07 Mohm, Q81002 reads 1.08 Mohm.
                        Q8201 reads 3.64 Mohm and Q8202 reads 3.63 Mohm.
I don't know if that means anything.

I ordered 10 fuses. When they get here I can apply power to it and have some to spare.

There's a number of Chinese companies that sell cheap Mosfet testers that would be useful for you in repairing TV's.

The ESR works but I don't rely on it having a Dick Smith unit that is a must for checking capacitors.

There's a diode across the Source/Drain which you can check using your meter on diode mode.

The diode is internal to the mosfet as shown in the pdf post #45 for the sd20n60

Looking at the front of the mosfet Pin 1 = Left (Gate), Pin 2 = Middle(Drain) , Pin 3 = Right (Source)

Yes there is an internal diode in the 20N60 and is between pins 2 and 3. What readings are the getting both ways using your meter set to diode test.

If the meter is reading OL in both directions then it would indicate an open circuit diode within the mosfet but I'll wait to see what the component identification numbers listed above are first before reaching a definate conclusion.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

VIZIO M65-C1 Does Not Turn On

                                            Hi All,

I am having an issue with my Vizio M65-C1 where it does not turn on. When I plug it in the stand by light on bottom left of screen turns on (white) then fades away. If I press the power button it turn back on and then fades until it is super dim.

When I remove cover, there are no illuminated leds on the main board, I've seen others with a red/blue led that turns on.

I've done some research and what is interesting is my voltages all seem slightly different from other people. For example +5/3.5v is 3.48V when on which is different from others on here....

                                            Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

                                            To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...

Acer Aspire 4520 won't turn on after reboot
                                            by robante15
Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.

It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

The moment I turn it off and want to turn it back on a second time, or restart it and try to start it again, it no longer gives an image, and it no longer responds.

                                            If I remove the...
