Lg led led no picture now

The tv is a lg 39ln5700. The screen did have an image with the flash light test. At first we thought it was the power board. We replaced it with no difference.

After reading more here I found a way to test the LEDs to see if that was it. Yep.

Got the 4 strip pack and replaced the 2 bad strips. Before reassembling check to see if it worked. Yep we have light. Reassembled the tv, turned it on and a bunch of vertical lines. Brighter strip in the middle.

Check the ribbon cables and the ends were damaged. Got replacements for those. No difference. Read some more, may be a bad t-con board. Got one of those. Now we have a black screen no image with flash light test.

So now what? It's frustrating that it had an image before we took it apart and now it doesn't. I'm looking for some help.

It's possible that you've some kind of bad connection double check all the plug in connectors connections, Be sure to check the soldering connections on those connections and the rest of the boards. You may even have a faulty PSU I'd try the old one again.

You may have damaged the LCD panel tabs.

It may be worthwhile taking a close look at the tabs that are fixed to the panel to see that they are not damaged.

I have ripped one off when removing/re-installing a panel but thankfully only once and lesson learnt.

It would just be a picture of a black screen.

Both PS do the same thing.

Checked the tabs (which are the thin ribbons coming out of the screen, right?) None are torn or or loose from the boards.

          Checked all the cables.

Tried the disconnect one ribbon cable from the t-con to see if I got a half screen difference. No change.

Even though the screen shows no damage could it have flexed too much while we replaced the LED?

Can you post some sharp images of the circuit boards.

When you say "cable ends damaged"... what does this mean... pictures? might provide some clues as to what you are battling... poor connection OR "shorted positioning"?

Tcon. How were you connecting the flat cables. There are clips which have to be lifted upwards, then attach cable, next clip back down again to lock them in place. Or are you pushing the cables back into the connectors?

I did push it in the first time. That is what damaged the flat cables. The contacts pealed back. The second set of flat cables I put in right flipping up the latch sliding it in and closing it.

hmmmm sounds like you need to "re-examine" your "work". IF you were trying to install those cables in the manner you just described, then it is quite likely that you might not understand how the cables are meant to be aligned in the connectors. Their alignment has to be very precise... there are small tabs on each side that need to be followed. Hopefully you haven't damaged the connector receiver portion.

                          Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

LED Strip test points and testing?
                          by lmcancu
Hi is there a guide in this forum on how to test the LED backlight TV strips? I purchased an LED tester on amazon, but I am a bit confused on the test points and how to test the individual LEDs? I took apart a RCA 43" TV Rlded4331b. Please see attached pictures. I understand that all the LEDs are in series, but on these strips I don't see any individual test points for each LED? Any tips or guides?
                          Thanks in advance...

This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                          Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Philips 58PUS7805/12 showed no picture; after T-Con replacement, shows halo

Hello, this is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted to repair a TV.

My Philips 58PUS7805/12 stopped working recently. It is not that old, about 5 years. We were on a trip for a few days and when we came back, it had stopped working out of a blue (Perhaps our house was hit by a lightning strike? Don't know.)

Read from a guide that I should test if the screen shows picture with one of the T-Con cables disconnected. Did that, it showed perfect picture (first on left, later on right side).

Read also that we should test what happens if we...
