I was thinking about this subject the other day because it was confusing me to. Of course it is just ohm's law. I am just learning this stuff.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Testing a handful of individual LEDs with the voltage set at 3v and the current limit 100mA, I see current draw between 40mA to 80mA
Why do 8 LEDs draw as much current as a single one ? I'm confused, what am I missing ?
      1) Series circuit: same amount current will flow through all 8 LEDS, you do not add the current for each load in the SERIES circuit.
      2) As I indicated, not all 8 LEDs will have the same Vf.
      2) As I indicated, if you slowly crank up the power supply Voltage of that power supply, you will see the current starting to rise sharply. Did you do it as I suggested?
You will learn a lot by doing the proper experiment.

See page 10 of the LG LED spec then you will see why.
LED is not linear device, you can how much current will change with small amount of change of the Voltage.
Per chart @3V If is about 80ma, @3.2V it goes over 150mA.
The spec. on page 5 also show Vf of 3V @65mA.
The Vf of the LED in the working TV will be higher than 3V because the If is in the range of 200 ~ 400 mA range.

I'm replacing my edge LEDS now. Samsung UN55D6050TFXZA. The part # on the LED strips is 2011SVS55-FHD 5k6k, left and right.

I noticed there was some double stick tape on the rail in front of the LED strips, but did not appear to adhere to the LED strips. Is that double stick tape there to better secure the flat panels?

I bought a roll of double stick tape from ShopJimmy.com.

I think I can replace everything properly once my LEDs are reinstalled and connected. I bought some new screws to secure the LED's because the ones holding in the old strips were tough to get out and the Phillips head stripped
on several of them in the process.

Does anyone know of a tutorial on replacing these types of LEDs, just in case I need a reference?

Samsung UN55F6400. 3 RH strips had bad LED's. Two strips each had 1 bad, one had 3 bad,
After replacing the 3 on one strip, I had to replace 4 more!

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs

            Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

            Hi,

            First post...

I have this TV, which was working, then suddenly would not turn on. It would get the clicking relay then flash up the screen for less than a second, off for a second then on again. Removing the plug the relay continues to click on and off for a few cycles, which I don't think it did before.

Left it a few months, then finally got round to taking the back off, and it worked as it should. So I tested various bits and all was well. Then turned it on again, and back to the clicking relay.

I disconnected the main board from the power...

Samsung UE48H6410 replaced Mainboard but backlights doesnt go on
            by max789
Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.

            I made the following tests:
            1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
            2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.

So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from...

            VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
            by bpcannan
            'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...

Samsung UE49MU6400 acts dead until disconnecting backlights, then works.
            by jesterace
Hi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.

However, I am in a dilemma.

I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected...
