I wasn't sure if the reflash was successful as the tv went to black just after the install, but I have had it on the bench today and it it did get the latest FW and still powers down after 30 mins, as I say, I have sourced a good main board, so will wait to see,

    thanks all, very helpfull

I wasn't sure if the reflash had been successful as the tv switched off and never came back on after the download, but I had it on the bench today and the FW is up to date, but still powering down after 30 mins, I have a new main board coming so I will update after i fit it

Main Board arrived today and fitted, and so far so good, its stayed on...

was just lucky in getting the correct main board rather cheap, one down 6 to go,

many thanks to all who contributed, I am guessing it was corrupt FW but how that makes the board shut down after an hour, I am not sure, but would love to know,

ps do vestel have this firmware to download, maybe i should have tried a reflash first.

Awesome, also they dont offer a Fw Nvm download on these boards you have to manually extract the firmware with an Spi reader or find it on the internet.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                    by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                    After all of...

DVR camera recorder switching power supply capacitor failure really
                    by sam_sam_sam
These cheap non brand capacitors at it again

Last night we had a power outage [ long drawn out trying three to come back up before going out completely ] and when I went to turn the DVR camera recorder back today no go 3 bad capacitors ( one capacitor no ESR reading on DVR board the other 3 capacitor on the power supply board over 40 ohm this is not a misprint ) on the external switching power supply and one capacitor on the DVR camera recorder board where the power supply that goes to the hard drive disk is

Well at least I have the cameras back on line I to try the...

Vestel tv, how to flip the image?
                    by France_53
Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing...
