LG Plasma 50PC5D-UL random colored pixilation

I got this tv from friends and it would power cycle on and off... I took it apart and it was so full of dust the fan wouldn't run so the tv shuts down. I cleaned it all out now the tv stays on but I got this snowy colored random pixels, they really show up in the darker areas of the picture and in black areas top and bottom of the screen when playing a DVD. Could this be a bad panel or buffer boards or???

I wish I could post pictures but my phone wont let me and I don't have internet until I get to work.

Sounds very much like a worn PDP,the panels on LG plasmas don't seem to last too long.
A little tweak, though not really recommended,is to VERY slightly adjust the vs up and vs down on the Ysus, which can minimise the issue,at the expense of over-running the buffer ic's.these sets were the LG lemon, with xsus and ysus failing together, taking out all four intelligent power modules in one go,every 12 months or so.A miracle yours has survived!

Schematic or datasheet for Plasma TV buffer chip
        by Yanleb
        Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
        by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
        • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
        • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
        by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
        1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
        2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
        3. Problem: TV shuts down

Samsung 50" plasma display with magenta areas
        by edugimeno
        Hi There!

I have a Samsung PS50c450B1W plasma TV, which after lots of work on it to repair some damaged boards, is not working perfectly EXCEPT it looks slightly magenta on areas that should look white.

Somewhere I read, a long time ago, that this would have to deal with adjusting some X/Y/Z/something voltages...

Does this make sense to anyone?

If so, just manually adjusting that voltage at hand while checking the screen or setting a specific voltage to it?

        Thanks everyone!
