Question About Samsung Plasma TV control board LED

I am under the impression that when the boards in a tv are connected and the LED on the control board flashes once per second, this means all the boards are good and working properly.

I sold a XSUS board to someone in the US. They said that the board doesn't work. After repair and before shipping, I tested it in a tv and with the XSUS board connected, the LED flashes one per second on the control board. I think he may have misdiagnosed, but now I have to refund this turd.

    Any thoughts?

Unfortunately this is one of the problem when selling used boards especially to people who are not experienced in repair and think that by replacing a board will fix their set when in truth they haven't go a clue what is wrong. Worse still you may now have a faulty board being returned.

Yup thats my thought on this too, he probably fucked up the board. I can repair it though. I am going to change my listing in the future to "only certified electronic techs" should attempt this repair.

I have seen some sites which state that anyone may purchase their boards but installation must be carried out by a qualified person. In the event of a return then details of the qualified person / shop must be provided for a refund.

I don't know if it helps the seller or just reduces their sales.

I use void tape ?As long as you know that a board is in working order ,and shows no shorts put void tape over the sockets, you must tell the buyer to check the board for shorts and that you will not accept returns of any shorted boards that have the void tape broken as the board has been fully tested before being shipped .This will stop buyers returning boards that they have blown,if they ask you how to test before fitting you know they are not qualified to be fitting it, and you can ask how they tested and found there problem(fault) before orderding your board . Hope this helps it works for me Flocko

I have used this for some time now on Sus +buffer boards it stoped the returns dead. and with the new 30 day returns coming in soon on eBay you need to be one jump ahead of the game

                Hello Flocko,
Could you sell your parts as "Non Working" with a 14 day return to get around the 30 days?
You're not likely to be offering a 14 day return on items that are not working

Parts that are listed as non working would have no returns anyway as far as I know , to sell parts as faulty would kill your prices ? most of my board are new or refurbished, but I list some Sus +buffers boards that are S/hand these are the ones I use the void tape on. all are tested and working before being listed and shipped. At the moment the 30 day return is an option but i dont know for how long Flocko

Thanks for the ideas guys. Flocko, I will be changing my listing and I will get void tape and try that and see how it works. Did this impact you board sales? Honestly it doesn't bother me if it does lower sales since at least when I do make a sale, it will be to someone who is qualified and knows what they are doing, rather then some ordinary Joe who doesn't know shit about electronics.

Where did you get the void tape?

Hi I have taken photos to show the slips I use and how I word them. the orange slip is sent out with all my boards the white is sent with Sus and Buffer boards, the void tape I get from eBay you only use a small amount so it lasts forever. I hope this will help you with your eBay selling Flocko
