Re: Pioneer PDP-LX508D Won't turn on, 3 flashes from PSU

Jumped the gun there a bit. Tv won't fit in the bin and Mrs has stopped nagging every 5 minutes..
Does seem a shame to get rid and really hope this is not a panel problem. Reason I say this is that all the voltages check out.

As the fault (8 flashes) points to ADRS fault) I checked the voltages onto 8 address boards, 4 on the top of the panel, 4 on
the bottom of the panel and they seem fine. The ribbons cables going to them seem fine.

Also, got to check if the x sustain (with the possibly incorrect silk screen) was put in by previos owner an may be wrong model board?
          Its model number is ANP2195-A

Other than checking around where I have repaired already (check that the fets are being driven etc) I don't know where else
          to check.

The faulty, fets might have burnt up a couple of their resistors etc. Have you checked their related smd components ?

Yes, I checked the gate resistors. The driver ics (sot23-6) we're checked for shorts to GND so far. I need to check with a scope to see if gates of Fets are being driven by drivers to test drivers properly.

I am suspecting bust panel because when I power up and screen comes on I get a faint buzz and then a power down 8 flash fault. Then if I unplug the top right and bottom right address board the buzz does not happen and I don't get an 8 flash error.

The screen would only be bust if its cracked though they really cant fail in any other way, is it cracked at all ?

However I do get another fault but not a flashing red one (must be a blue one) will investigate more later.

Cant be the panel then, sounds like your control board isnt telling the Y drive to sustain properly. I had this with a Samsung guessing the shorted Ymain damaged the Control board and it was causing some weird things on the screen. Tom will be able to help you if you get a scope though.

unlikely, I don't see a Y-main easily damaging the control board.

Could be shorted address lines, will be failed panel usually if it gives 8 red flashes after brief image.

Just seems strange that TV had 2 faults at the same time that seem unrelated.

I dont personally think its the screen as if it was the Tv would not have worked in the first place but then the Y drive failed something else could have failed when the fets did.

Also you can actually see the shorted address lines inside the screen when its off, you will be able to see one of the wires in the scree shorting out to the one behind it. But the VERY VERY RARELY happens.

Sadly it probably isn't if it's the address lines. These are nice TVs, but good luck reattaching the cables with 4000+ drive lines (for just a 720p TV! a 1080p one has nearly 6000!)#
8G and 9G Kuros do occasionally have panel failures, but it's one of the more rare failure modes.

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

Pioneer VSX-D1011 - turn on problem

Hi all! I have a problem with Pioneer VSX-D1011 – it don't turn on when the amplifier is disconnected from the socket for a few minutes. Standby LED doesn't light up. I'm a beginner in electronics, so I'm not very good at reading schematics. I tried to find the visual damages of components but I didn't see anything wrong. All of the fuses are ok, both of the switches the same. Have you any idea where should I start looking for? Once on every 100 tries I am able to turn it on, but what can it depend on?

Samsung NP750QFG-KA3DE does not turn on , Blue LED flashes 3 times

                                            Hi everyone, I have a Samsung NP750QFG-KA3DE , MainBoard VESTA3-15 BA92-24515A

the battery is charged. pressing the power button the blue LED flashes 3 times and then stays blue. then the sequence repeats.
                                            the fan does not start.

I noticed that I have no power on the processor and it does not heat up. could it depend on the bios?

any advice on what to check?

                                            Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...
