    LG 60PV250 Plasma

    Hey guys ,

A friend of mine got a LG , 60 inch that is not working anymore after a loud bang/pop.
He lives further away and that 60 inch does not fit in my little Ford Ka so i said , send me the boards and i'll check them.

    Symptoms :

Tv clicks 1 time , little flash on the panel
Tv does not respond to the remote
    No sound.
    No picture with Zsus removed
Green led on the control board blinks 3 times.
    Led on mainboard is on.

After some searching i found out that the Zsus board most of the times fail. I checked all transistors and diodes on all the boards and they are all ok. No blown ic's or blown fuses.

Is there a way to test the voltages with just these 3 boards? ( PS / Ysus / Zsus ). For example , powering on just the powersupply with a jumper and test the voltages?
My friend tested the voltages and he does have 5v and +/-200v at Ysus connector.

Im suspecting that the buffer boards are gone.

Also , can i test the buffer boards for the LG plasma the same way as for a Panasonic? ( Forgive my ignorance ).

Can i turn the tv on WITHOUT the buffer boards?

    Thanks!

Checked for cold solder joints on the big coils of the Zsus ? Its a common issue and cause of no image on these.

Might have arched over, resolder them coils and give it a try. It can only go boom

Hmm can be , would have been visible? Dont see any burn marks.

Will resolder most parts and let him check the buffer boards for shorts.

The soldering on the big coils on the Zsus board look really bad. They have small circles around the solder ...looks cracked.

I resoldered all IGBT's and diodes and coils. Buffer boards are fine. Gonna install the boards tonight!

So i took the car and drove to my friend. Tv has no standby led but i do have 5V at powersupply going to mainboard.

Tv clicks 1 time and control board flashes 1 time and 2 small blinks.

                Bad mainboard?

I have not tried the auto gen test patterns because i don't know how. Just got home again!

When the mains is applied the PS clicks 1 time. I do have a small light coming from the mainboard , its the optical in. There is no standby led but i do have 5v on the PS going to the mainboard. No standby led is a bad mainboard i think.

The pop came from the speakers and also the HD receiver restarted. Maybe a short in the mainboard via HDMI connector?

To run TP unplug Lvds to Tcon cable, on the Tcon you will see 4 pins thag stick up with little text next to them saying "auto gen" short out the pins and turn the Tv on screen should flash RGB etc. Sorry for being bland as on my Iphone 4s and its hard to type lol

Lg do not issue stand light error codes. Have you checked any voltages ?

No I haven't, I have sound and image {with torch} but no backlight apparent, standby is red flashes twice and then goes out sound remains, black screen unless illuminated with flashlight.

                                          Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                                          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
                                          ...

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate

I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Panasonic plasma A boards/Kuro media box repair.

                                          Hi all.

I have 2 Panasonic plasma A boards for ST50 50"/65" and Kuro KRP 500A media box which needs repair.
I'm not good enough at component repair so I need some help.
A boards and especially Kuro media box is still very valuable and I can't throw it away like some average Joe,lol

I'm from Europe/Slovakia and I'm searching for someone who is willing to repair these things or some tips at least.

Both A boards have HDMI issue either no signal or flickering.
And media box possibly with voltage regulator issue which is common...
