Re: Option Code needed for Philips 50PF7220A/37

It is a replacement SSB that I will be putting in.
    The current one is defective.
When the replacement is in, I am thinking it will fix the Standby voltage issue that is a result of the defective SSB. Then, I will need to put the codes in.

if you are going to replace used SSB of same size and Production code, don't care so much on codes as they are already saved on NVM of the replacing one, either it will have the serial No of the replacing parts.

write code will be need only by changed corrupted NVM, or New SSB from Factory.

Thank you both, Diah and budm. I appreciate your efforts.

I came across those chassis-based service manuals about a week ago, but they also seem to fall just short of providing the Options code(s).

I think you are right, Diah. I expect that I might have to put in the Screen Diversity code of 027 to get a picture, but the Option Code might well actually be stored in the NVM because this SSB was pulled from a set that is the same model as mine.

At least, I'm hoping that's the case. If so, I'll be able to access the SAM and simply write them down for future reference.

I'll be putting in the new SSB on Monday night when it arrives. If there's anything special I need to know about how to make a successful replacement, please let me know.

Thanks for the assistance, guys. I'll keep you and any others looking into this thread posted as to my progress.

Re: Option Code needed for Philips 50PF7220A/37

              Update on this Philips 50PF7220A/37:

I replaced the SSB, with no resultant change. Still getting the 7 red LED flashed on the front and the 4 green flashes on the PSU itself.

I then ordered a Logic Board off of ShopJimmy and still no change. Same deal as always.

Both the SSB and the Logic Board light up with a green led for about 4 or 5 seconds when the set attempts to power up, but these lights go off immediately thereafter and do not return. Same is true with the two green led lights on the power supply that are located next to the AC line and primary fuse.

If I am to believe these error codes, then the source of the problem is still the 8v6 line that comes off one of the lower-left hand connectors on the PSU and into the SSB. If this is failing, it seems to be because of a component on the PSU itself since replacing both the SSB and Logic Board effected no change.

              My question is:
Does anyone have knowledge of what specific component or components on the PSU might well be causing the 8v6 line to apparently produce the primary error code on these Philips plasma sets?

There must be over 30 capacitors on the PSU, none of which look to be bulged or compromised in any way, and I would rather not attempt to replace them all as a widespread shot in the dark on this set.

Reminder: I did replace C8059 and C8060 a while back. I suppose it's possible due to my soldering trouble that those are still the only problem on this set, but want to ask if anyone out there has knowledge of other components that regularly fail and cause the 8v6 line to be problematic.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Your old mainboard didn't have a decal listing option codes at all? And nowhere inside the tv?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?
