    samsung good luck

I picked up a 50" Samsung plasma which was a little old but was the first generation 1080p. I paid $40.00 and the guy told me it did not power on and it needed p.s. caps. Of course that's what everyone tells you. He put it in the box of the new tv he bought and I did not pull it out of the box till I got it home. No screws on the back panel, so immediately i thought I bought a $40.00 boat anchor. Took the back off and found the power supply only had 2 screws in it. I noticed 2- 2200uf caps sticking up about an inch off the board and the top of one was blown. It was installed backwards!!! I had 2 caps in my cap assortment and soldered them in properly and bazinga- it worked. I am only telling this story cause I have bought a few tv's that someone has worked on and I think they think a soldering iron is just like a blow torch. So this one turned out ok. Thought I'd share.

I got lucky too, a 55ln610c, about $50, i added a bolt to the back cover, located it over the main board to create some pressure on it. There must have been some type of bond loose because it was causing numerous pinkish vertical lines. Kids did manage to pop off the 3rd hdmi port. Cant find a replacement piece, but it is easy to replace.

Yes the internet can be horrible. Almost everyone trying to sell a tv always says I read on the internet,it just needs a power supply. Isn't that a joke!!!
I bought a Sony 40" lcd which was a late model. 3d, smart, wireless and the guy was asking $250.00. I offered him $50.00 and 2 months later he sells it to me for $50.00 After I paid him and had it loaded in my truck, he tells me his son wiped the screen down with a real wet rag. The tcon was blowing fuses even with the panel disconnected, so I got a tcon and got a picture but the panel ended being bad. I actually saw one of the ribbons light up. So $80.00 was a lot to pay for an anchor.

Fixing televisions is always a gable! You never know what you buy from someone else , unless its a common fault for the model.

My very first tv repair was a "Grundig" lcd with no backlight. Was just 1 capacitor that had to be replaced. As 1 got bulged i replaced them all which fixed the problem. Bought it for 20 and sold it for 120. Thats just luck!

2 weeks ago i payed $50 for a Philips 37PFL8404H that had the half of the screen black and other one picture. ( Tab bonding problem ).

I fixed these models before and even have a fixed model in my bedroom so i thought it was a easy fix. Came home and found out he tried to fix the tab bonding himself.....he used some sticky rubber and was somehow stuck on the lcd+tabs+bezel. I had a lot of trouble just removing the bezel!!! The tab was for 50% removed from the panel!

Easiest repairs are still the Panasonic plasma tv's with the 1uf capacitor problem on the PSU.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

All the time, "It just has a cracked screen-easy repair" and you feel like saying-if its so easy why dont you fix it yourself. You always hear the old story "you can sell the parts on ebay and make a fortune" and again you want to say- then why don't you sell the parts on ebay.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                    by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
