Hello I have a tv that will not power up. It simply clicks on twice and then two clicks off. I am in need of someone to help guide me on what test points to try with my DMM. I need step by step help with the DMM ie... what setting to select when i test a certain circuit. I have a basic DMM that does not have an audible s/c. Thanks in advance.
I have spent hours reading through different forums and I am at whits end. What am I missing? HEELLLLPPPP?
Items Replaced through verified/legit companies:
1. Power Supply Board
2. ZSUS Board
3. YSUS Board
4. YSUS Buffer Boards (2)
So, $250 later, my thought is for some detailed component level checks ie... voltages with your help/guidance.

Im crying for you Why not diagnose it before throwing parts at it ? Im guessing your motherboard is at fault have you checked the Pson and Vson signals ?

Its on the main plug from the motherboard to the Psu. Its labeled next to the pins.

You'll need to check the voltages, STDby 5V, and Ps-On for starters.

Just changing boards is a sure way for a broken bank-balance and no further forwards! How do you KNOW the boards you bought are OK??

IF from ebay or most sellers--They dont even test them properly,--just claim they are from working sets--but often they are busted before you even buy 'em!

An investment in a cheapo $5 harbour-freight DVM would have saved you a huge lot of time and expense!

I measured and here is what i Got
STDby = 4.96V
VS 0n =4.51V
I could'nt locate the PS On. Where should I look for that? thx so much for your help.

Its on the main plug from the motherboard to the Psu. Its labeled next to the pins.

STDby = 4.96V

I have a 60PC3D with a bad pdp..torn/cracked ribbon causing a line. I have all boards.

I am a novice with the DVM so what setting do choose to check for short. My DVM does not have audible capability so Im not sure how to check thx.

OK so i put the DVM ON DCV 200 selection and checked the VS Lines (3)
Remember the tv clicks on twice and off twice.
1.when the tv clicks on the DVM is all over the place.
2. when the tv clicks off the DVM shows 23-24

The VS label on the tv shows
VS= 193V
VA= 63V I checked this and its shows to be correct.

What do I check now that is seems the VS lines are not showing the right Voltages?

Look at the two large connectors in pic3 of post1 for one of the pins labelled VS. Remove power from set. Put dmm in resistance or ohms mode. Put one lead to that pin and another to chassis ground and report the reading.

You could also check those two ceramic fuses by the connectors to see if they're blown by putting a meter lead on each end and checking the resistance.

UPDATE; With the power off,I selected diode mode and put the black lead on the chaSsis and the RED lead on VS (THERE ARE 3 VS OR RED CABLES)....
1. VS READING = 1
2. VS READING = 1
3. VS READING = 1

I checked the fuses in diode mode.
Both read = 0
Attached is a pic of the correct board that you suggested that I check.
I checked the VS lines and all readings = 1

Let's make sure they are the correct boards for your set.

Check the Sus output from the Ipms.
