Sony kdl-50w656a no picture

I have a SONY KDL-50W656A what i bought thinking might need a new tcon board as the tv lit up without picture but later realised this set didn't have a t-con board. I found a donor which was smashed so started off replacing the main board which had no effect. Im thinking that maybe this is the wrong main board as I've seen this happen before. A lot of tvs i buy come from repair centres and can be left with incorrect parts being fitted. Any ideas how to help

Are you saying that the T-CON board is missing or the the LCD panel has an integrated T-CON? But no matter what kind, it still need switched the switched 12VDC to run the T-CON.

integrated tcon. i know the main board works as I've tried it in the donor which has a damaged screen

I have the same problem with my tv the same model, sound works, but no picture, backlight also works, did you solve the problem? what was the reason? which parts did you replace or repair?
