Lg 555ls4500 sound no picture

One day the picture just went out and sound was still playing. Does it sound like a main board issue?

Is the backlight working ?

You need to check and see if you do get DCV (5V or 12V depends on the panel) at both ends of the SMD fuse (with ref to chassis GND) on the T-CON board which is under the metal shield.

Just getting back around to this issue, checked the fuse getting 12v from both ends.

I've tried another t-con as well still no change, and tried another Main board. I can hear static with the original main board but not with the new one. Also this is how the screen looks with either board.

Does anyone think this might be a panel issue?

Ohh dear looks like a Panel issue, have you tried unhooking one side of the panel ribbon cables to see if the other half comes back ?

+1, try having one ribbon cable between the T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at a time to see what you will get on the screen.

Thanks guys I just wanted to be sure. Pics are for anyone else wondering what they should see. First picture is with the left side ribbon disconnected from the tcon, Second is with the right disconnected.

You have panel problem, when the all the ribbon cables are connected, the bad parts (Caps (MLCC), or the Gate/Source drive ICs) of 1/2 of the panel loaded down the T-CON output and caused the switching supplies (I.E: Vgh, Vgl) to shutdown.

check for liquid damaged tab bonds too
