50PFP5532D/05 Very Poor Image Help ?

Hello all, I have this Phillips 50" Plasma its a rebaged Samsung PS50Q97HD etc. There were two shorted devices on the Ymain, after replacing them the Tv turns on and give image but its crap lots of MD and other issues.

I have set all the Sus voltages to what I person know these Panels run fine at but this one still looks poor as heck, any ideas could my Xmain be at fault ? Im stuck on this and can not sell it like this, I cant get it to even look slightly decent either.

Link to video of the Tv and fault:

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

Boost still cant solve this. Got to be a sustain drive fault as the Panel cant be that tired but everything checks fine

Looks like a worn out panel - same cause as LG maldischarge. AFAIK Samsung never released a firmware update but it was fixed in later panel revisions, so if you can find a control board from a newer set that may work. If the hour count doesn't line up it may cause the same problem so you may have to transplant the EEPROM between the boards.

Long and short, not really an easy fix.

No, the EEPROM doesn't store the firmware, flash memory does. A blank EEPROM would likely cause the controller to get very confused about everything and in a moment of spite it may just decide to blow the Y, X and panel all at once. (It's possible to write firmware that can do this )

EEPROM and flash memory are different devices. I'm sure I keep mentioning this and no one seems to listen...

Ordered Cntrl board as image will not clear even after being on for hours and properly warm, peoples faces and other colors are way off. Will keep you updated.

Ok I decided to run the set for a few hours while I went out, still same crappy image when I left now im home the screen is almost fully white. Still on freeview have sound and I can very faintly see the image in the back ground, the contrast and colour are at the normal setting and I can still adjust them. I switched it off for a few hours but still same issue, faded out full white screen

                      Any ideas ?

Ok so after turning it back on again its now back to the original crappy MD image wtf ? All voltages bave been adjusted to whats has been recommended on other threads, at factory panel voltages it looks 100% worse.

Something is not right with this, I was running it fine with the crappy MD image then all of a sudden the screen went full white again and faded out. I dont think thats a panel issue ?

Well I found the fault ! After heating the control board the fault occured stright away I suspecting the caps on it are bad, so I will remove and esr them. Knew this was not a panel fault, hopefully if I replace/repair it the MD will go

Found that almost every 220uf 16v Smd cap had failed. Worst having 14 ohms across it ! However replacing them did not fix the issue. So ordered a control board to see if it will fix it. Will keep you updated.

Image showing the caps replaced, yes I used Rad type caps as I do not stock SMT type.

Call me an ass wipe eveyone ! The Ymain was the issue and I just fixed it anyone guess the fault ?

If you cant well it was a blown fuse lol F5200 which provides power the the Long Yset area was O/C after changing it the image is now awesome and the cntrl board when heated no longer messes up. I was able to determine the Ymain was the fault as I have another from a C96Hd and putting that one in made the Tv work great.

So after checking around found that fuse to be blown probably happened when the fet shorted originally lol. The display now looks great, not a single lick of MD at all which is awesome

                                Thanks for the input chaps.
