LED driver board errors out on 42LE5300, back-lights for for few seconds only

TV is LG 42LE5300-UC AUSWLUR with power supply EAY60803201, LED driver board YP4247LPB and main EBU60981905.

When you turn the TV on (with remote or button) PSU relay clicks on, back-lights turn on 2 seconds after that as well as LG welcome screen. After 3 seconds back-lights turn off, but the panel is still on when checking with flashlight test and power supply remains on until turned off by pressing he power button again.

I have taken the panel and filters off to inspect the LED's themselves. It is an edge-lit TV. All LED's turn on with uniformed intensity, none are off or look bad. I have noticed that few LED's have a little glow to them. The glow starts when the set is turned on for those initial 2 seconds, then LED's come fully on, and then they turn completely off after 3 seconds, no glow at the end. I did take a picture of it, but it is hard to see.

I have bypassed the main board as well, just to be sure, be removing the cable that leads to main board from PSU. I have jumped the '3.5V' pin with 'Power ON' and 'DRV On' pins on the PSU. Same problem as before.

Caps look OK and diodes read OK on the PSU. Moving to LED driver board. I do get a 3.3V on the 'ERROR' pin when the back-lights turn off. 'DRV ON' pin remains at 3.0V at all times when PSU is on. There are 13 mosfets on the LED driver board. When the relay click on, the output voltage spikes to about 36V (I have no min/max) and immediately starts to drop until back-lights come on, then they read 0V. After back-lights turn off, the voltage again spikes to about 36V and settles anywhere from 9.2V to 10.8V on various mosfets. The V1+ through V4+ continually read 98.9V when back-lights are off or 105.5V when they are on.

DRV ON reads steady 3.0V at all times. PWM_DIM reads 3.2V when relay clicks on and when LED's are on. After the LED's turn off, the voltage gradually drops to 2.5V and then gradually picks back up to 3.2V. This "dip" happens after the LED's turn off and takes about 2 second to go from 3.2V to 2.5V and back to 3.2V.

Any thoughts on what is wrong?
Could this still be defective LED strips in some way that is not visible?
    Thanks for the input

Leave the meter probe on the PWM pin, turn on the TV and see what DCV you get and then when the backlights go out.

PWM on LED drievr board and PWM_DIM on PSU connector reads 3.2V when relay clicks on and when LED's are on. After the LED's turn off, the voltage gradually drops to 2.5V and then gradually picks back up to 3.2V. This "dip" happens after the LED's turn off and takes about 2 second to go from 3.2V to 2.5V and back to 3.2V.

Update time. I have bought replacement power supply board. Unfortunately it arrived defective; eBay go figure. I have taken a chance and unsoldered the driver boards and swapped them around, and TV is now running great. So it was the driver board issue, however you cannot just buy the driver board itself, at least not yet. You will have to buy the entire power supply board.

Ive had same fault on a rather similar PSU and deleted that stupid LED Driver board completely.

That was over a year ago, Set is still working just fine without it!

Hi. I have the exact same problem in the same boards. I've replaced led driver board MOSFET and the bigger controller IC as3693. Psu Board connected without mainboard and exact the same problem. After 2 sec the backlight turns off and error pin have 3.3v.
Alastair E please tell me what I need to do to disable this led driver and use an alternative. Regards!

Hello, this is my first post and im just a beginner, so be easy on me guy. thanks

i have a LED chandeilier that switches colors from white to cool white to warm when toggling the switch, it has 24 LED arms, each arm is 30 CM length.

i have no datasheet at all for the LED lights, all i have is its length.

long story short, testing the chandelier on the ground, and it works fine for 1 - 2 - 6 hours, no problem.

as soon as i fix the chandelier to the ceiling and bury the driver inside the hub,...

LCD Backlights Driver - Unknown Component
                  by Spongebob89
                  Hi,
I have an "LCD Backlights Driver" and it is not working. After measurments and checking the routes of the PCB I beleive that this component on the red circle is a choke for filtering the supply voltage and block noise from the inverter to go back to the main board. When I measured in ohm and in diode mode with multemeter shows always OL. I shortcircuit this component and it worked. The current that I measured with multemeter is 550mA, so I want rated current 1,5x550mA=825mA~1Α. Am I right that this is a choke and if yes what value do you beleive is (maybe 15uH or the...

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
                  by Pipolups
                  Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Lenovo Legion 5 high fan spin turns off after 34 seconds
                  by twonk9098
                  Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 series CPU and RTX 3070 GPU. My issue is that it turns on and all seems fine except after a few seconds the fans spin up high and the laptop turns off after 34 seconds.
I can get into bios and can even boot and login to Windows however after 34 seconds no matter if Im at the bios screen or booted into Windows it will just turn off.

I have managed to run HWmonitor and the temperatures of the CPU and GPU are fine, I can also touch the heatsync which is warm but not hot.

I have tried a few new bios but exactly...

Need Audio Driver for Thomson P14C4BK128 (Windows 10/11)

                  Hi everyone,

I'm looking for help finding the correct audio driver for my Thomson P14C4BK128 laptop.
The sound is not working properly, and I believe the audio driver is missing or not installed correctly.

                  Here are the details:
                  • Model: Thomson P14C4BK128
                  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit

If anyone has a working link to the driver or knows where I can download it, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help!
