    LG 55LS4500 display issues

Hi guys... I'm fearing the worst but I thought I'd ask here first.
The TV in question is LG 55LS4500 which I got real cheap, as it was broken.

When I first power up the TV, the power LED blinks 3 times (not sure if that means anything), the backlight comes on and a wide grey bar shows up at the far left side of the TV as per below:

I can only assume that at this point the TV is trying to display the name of the input source (PC, TV, HDMI, etc...)

After a few seconds, this will disappear and another bar will cycle in different locations of the display as per below:

I'm assuming this is a message indicating that no video is present and it shows up at different locations to prevent burn-in.

If I switch the TV Input to Antenna (btw sound works OK), I get the following:

Notice the bottom left of the display. It appears to be darkened out when the bar cycles through the display, yet it seems to work when the TV first powers up.

Ignoring the bottom left of the display for the time being, to me it looks like the Y information is lost, while the X is working OK - hence the long vertical bars.

I'm just curious if the panel is toast or am I looking at an issue somewhere else?

    thanks
