I picked up a Vizio M470SV at a garage sale. I was told it would shut down due to bad caps. I thought I'd get it anyway and try and fix it.
At first, the TV would start up, display "Comp RGB" and then would shut down. Once I was able to get the TV onto another input source, it would stay on. From the start, the remote hardly worked. Menu items would change 15-20 seconds after I pressed a button. I have since read the it's possibly the IR sensor. No big deal. But, even the buttons on the back of the TV have the same slowness when changing menus. So, it may NOT be the IR sensor if the buttons are slow too.
I cannot get any input device to work. I hooked up an antenna just to see if the TV would show some static. The TV searched for channels, but the search took so long, it shut down. I connected a Roku2 and the got a "Device not supported" message. Then the TV shut down.
Any ideas as to why this TV is so agonizingly slow?
thank you
