    Sanyo DP26649 Freezing, Restarting

Complete noob to working on TVs. What I'd like to do here is simply figure out what board to replace as I don't think I'm up for replacing individual components. My son has a Sanyo DP26649 I bought used and I liked it because it has a lot of different inputs for game consoles, PC, etc.

Randomly, the TV screen will glitch for a brief second as well as repeat the last bit of audio that was playing. It just lasts for a second, then the TV will "restart." It never loses power, but simply goes black and a few seconds later will return to normal. On a rarer occasion the TV screen will stay black and not react to the power button being pressed, meaning it has to be unplugged and turned back on to resume use.

This started as a rare occurrence but now it can happen pretty regularly every 10 minutes of use. This happens independent of what inputs are being used (HDMI, Component).

As a sidenote I notice my son had the extra yellow video cable from his Xbox 360 (not used for component video) wrongly plugged into an audio output. No idea if that could cause damage or not.

I'd love to figure out if I need to just replace the main board or something else so that I could get it ordered and here before Christmas. Any help / directions would be greatly appreciated.

    Question now is:
Is the mainboard acting funny because of bad capacitors on the power supply, or is it the main board itself.
Since there are no pictures to go with it, no testing or voltage readings have been provided, there isn't much we can do here...

Have you tried checking the outputs of the linear regulators (1117 etc) as they warm up?
On the forums, I have read that a number problems in TVs were a result of linear voltage regulators failing.
In an AWA MHDV2211 LCD TV/DVD combo, one of the 1117 voltage regulators dropped out as it warmed up, causing the video processor to crash - a replacement fixed this problem.
So have you tried carefully heating the linear regulators?
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I think you guys missed the "complete noob" part of my post. I don't know what to test for voltage or what a linear regulator is, but I'll be glad to pop this thing open and post some pictures or follow any other directions.

Opened her up, nothing obvious to me as far as bulging / melting capacitors and that's pretty much the extent of what I know to look for.

I have a multimeter that I don't really know how to use or what to check and what to check for, but if anyone has pateience to tell me I'll gladly do it.

I have noticed that every single listing for that board reports it to be out of stock so I'm suddently not optimistic about fixing this.

Sorry for low quality pics, also in the midst of getting my camera repaired to used a tablet.
