    LN52A550P3FXZA shutting down

I've been tasked with figuring out a friend's Sammy that'll fire up and run just fine, for about 15 or 20 minutes, then simply shut off. I can turn it right back on and it'll run for a while, then power down again. It's had the 4 main caps replaced, Radio Shack style, but that didn't change anything.
    Suggestions?

    Thanks

Try unplugging the tcon and see if it will still shut down.

You may want to go ahead and replace C102 on the main board, it will need it sooner or later.

        Re: LN52A550P3FXZA shutting down

Update..I had another main board from a working ln40 series tv, 00975c I swapped in, which gave me no display at all. I put the 52a board in my good ln40 and it wouldn't even power on. I put both boards back in their respective tvs and both fired back up. Unplugging the tcon had no change on the 52, however the turning off after 20 minutes had been with no input connected. I plugged in a dvd player and it ran flawlessly for several hours yesterday. Should the boards have interchanged without issue? Are they flashed differently? The guy who owns the 52 says he got the green screen and the screeching at least once. I'll get that 102 swapped, but is there anything else I should be on the lookout for?

Asus ROG GL553V shutting down before Windows
          by szepesif
          Hey guys!

This is the third laptop here with this exact same issue and the forum threads and YouTube comments are also filled with this problem so I would like to figure out once and for all what's causing it and how to fix it because this model will keep coming to me to repair.

Symptom: The laptop turns on and works fine UNTIL the Windows starts loading, then it shuts down. I can start it again but the same thing happens over and over again so I can't get into Windows. BUT I can enter the BIOS and it stays there forever without shutting down. The same applies if I remove...

          Problem with Samsung LN52A550P3FXZA
          by stacysturges
          Hello,
I'm experiencing an issue with my Samsung LN52A550P3FXZA. Upon powering it up, I initially see a ghosting effect in the background along with some slight red pixelation in certain areas. This then shifts to green pixelation in the black areas. The picture quality fluctuates with noise for about the first thirty minutes before it eventually clears up. I suspect the T-con board might be the culprit, but I'm also concerned that there could be a problem related to my previous repair. When I turn it on, I hear a click, and the red LED light flashes three times before the screen comes on....

          Carvin PA620 shutting down
          by Camarada78
I have a Carvin PA620 powered mixer with a weird problem: channel one shuts down the entire speaker output when plugged in. Its not a short because it still outputs sound through the line outs.

          1. voltages are somewhat correct (-42/+42, -26, -17/+17, when it should be +-43, -24, +-18).
          2. Channel 2 if plugged works normally, no issues, any volume.
          3. Channel 1 if plugged very low volume, works normally. if goes a little louder, it shuts down everything (both speaker channels)
          4. line out works normally in any situation, even after shutting down the speakers.

QNAP TS-469L NAS shutting down randomly
          by spleenharvester
I bought this NAS as "turns on then straight back off again". When I received it it had no trouble staying on, just the RAM stick was in the wrong slot so it wouldn't POST. I was hoping that was all that was wrong with it, but it's now started randomly shutting off once a week. When I find it off it will fire straight back up again if I hit power, no need to power cycle. Nothing ever in the logs aside from "the last shutdown was unsafe".

It's got an internal PSU, an FSP250-50LC (which is wildly overkill for the hardware really). The electrolytic caps in the PSU...
