What Major Brands are good reliable TV's?

I've seen many posts about the newer LED TV's and their failures with the LED arrays. I couldn't find a florescent tube TV in Best Buy (USA). Only LED TV's. many big names and some lesser brands. prices varied according to size of course. I did see some nice discounts for 40" and larger TV's. what are the brands to look at and what are the brands to keep away from?

    thanks

No Led Tvs are reliable in my opinion, you either get a bulb failure or panel failure. Plasma is the way to go if you can find a Pioneer or even a Panasonic that would be good. Thy will outlast any new Led Tv for sure !

Panasonic no longer makes Plasma TV or replacement boards.
Pioneer has not made a Plasma TV in years. Yo my knowledge no one makes Plasma TV any more.

I tell anyone who asks that I would look for the TV that I was most happy with the size, the price, and the features and then buy the five year extended warranty.

I'd vote Samsung, and depending on the price, buy the extended warranty. When my aunt bought her 32" Samsung 1080P (which works very well) the extended warranty was just a few bucks for five years. Definitely worth it because even brand name can be junk at this point.

I decided to buy a new TV and I ended up buying a UN65JS8500. It was discounted $1300 and I went for it.
I have a bright spot at the lower left corner. That is, how I start with a $2000 new Samsung TV. It looks like a pressure spot.
I have purchased a 4 year warranty, just in case.

Picked up a sammy un75f7100. Backlighting failed after 8 months. A few sporadic LEDS shorted and some open. This model uses 12 strips lighting up the rear, not edge lit. DEC 2014 build date. Kinda scary. Also is a pain in the butt to pull the panel in hopes that you don't crack itt. I'm fully expected for other LEDs to fail sometime. This is a Thin edgeless unit And it had tape surrounding whole perimeter and I had to remove all the tape now you can see the screw holes holding the panel shroud in place after the cover is back on so I use some black electrical tape. Needless to say the TV failing that fast is quite scary considering its size and what a pain it is to pull apart. I would almost be hesitant to resell it
Did I leave the soldering iron on?
