    Baird CV47BAIR Repair Log

Got this 47" Barid (generic) Lcd Tv to repair today. Customer thought it was a 42" so extra 5" bonus ! Fault is the image is solarized, looks like an AS15 failure here so suspect the gamma Ic to be at fault. The chassis of this is a Culta Vision Cl4700fhd45 cheap caps ohh well design isnt too bad for a Chinese set, this uses a Lg LC470WUN SB A1 lcd panel.

Found that the gamma Ic which is a 65162 Ic is indeed failed, got all input voltages however barely anything coming out its also very hot which is a dead give away its failed. I have ordered another Tcon for £10 off ebay, hopefully it fixes it also going to recap the Psu and get rid of them JH junks !

If it is not a gamma IC fault then try a factory reset: Source 2580 or Source 3690 to get into service menu.
I say this because I had a CN47BAIR with exactly this fault and it was corrupted service settings; resetting it fixed it.

            Re: Baird CV47BAIR Repair Log

Man the firmware on this Tv is crap, after reinstalling the whole lot found that I had no image on any inputs. After going into the menu I found that the contrast, brightness, color and sharpness were at 0 even after changing image modes non of them would lift. So I changed it to user and set the following:

            Contrast: 95%
            Brightness of Lcd: 40
            Color: 55
            Sharpness: 60

Tell you what for a cheap ass Tv the Lg Lcd panel sure has a decent image however the sound quality is rubbish but at least its working. Thanks Tom and BCN

              Re: Baird CV47BAIR Repair Log

I found the picture quality of the CN47BAIR to be abysmal despite the LG panel, then I realised it had a TN panel. Wow, never seen a >24" TV with TN, but basically horrible contrast, colour accuracy. Good for gaming though with quick response.

I am aware that these do use a variation of Panels so maybe yours used a different panel which wasnt as good

                  Panasonic SA-MAX770PU SMPSU board fault....
                  by Rictech
                  Hello everyone. 😀

As per thread title, this unit has a serious SMPSU fault. It blows F1001, which is a 10A M205 in the phase from the mains input.
Very first thing I tried, was simply replacing the fuse, but the replacement ceramic fuse blew immediately.

Looking at the schematic for this PSU, I then removed what I thought was the next likely candidate: D1001 - the HV main bridge rectifier.
This isolated the fault(no longer blows the main fuse), but does not point me to the actual fault.
There are no devices that have exploded or otherwise show signs...

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
                  by howardc64
                  • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
                  • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
                  • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
                  • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
                  • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

ESR meter came to the rescue again today with a PLC I/O card fault
                  by sam_sam_sam
I have been having a fun time at work with two pieces of equipment that had shorted components or shorted component cables to machine frame
I would check what my multi meter was telling me about how many ohms I getting with the multi meter was telling versus the ESR was telling me about weather or not it really was a short to machine ground or not

One note at first we thought that it might be a bad I/O card or a malfunction PLC including me as well but I thought I would try and see if removing the I/O cables would make a difference or not and this time it did make a difference...

Strange fault on Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen. 2
                  by cazi1001
                  Hello,
                  I have a strange fault with a Lenovo ThinkPad E14 G2 (Board No. NM-D011 Rev. 1.0).

The first Problem, which I fixed already, was a dead TPS65944AD (USB Type-C) controller. After I fixed this fault, all functions working fine and the notebook run very well with the charger and battery.
On the next day, I tied to start the notebook with the battery, but nothing happened. I started with the charger and on windows, I saw, that the battery was empty. And this was nearly impossible, because the battery was charged. I disconnected the battery and found out, that the board...

Extech EX330 multimeter current range offset fault
                  by PanicMechanic
My multimeter has developed this fault, a few months ago. I tried to fix it, but had no success.

The fault is that on the current ranges it never shows 0. Does not matter if the probes are open or shorted.
As you can see from the pics, the offser is the same (just multiplied for other rages):

                  -4.9 uA
                  -0.49 mA
                  -0.49 A

I don't know what exactlly caused the fault.

The meter had a battery leak before I noticed the fault, but I am not sure if the fault was present before that happened. I just did not noticed. The battery leaked...
