I have a screen full of colorful vertical lines on my screen. Samsung UN55B7000WFXZA

Hey gang, this all started with a ghost picture, was like having two pictures offset on my tv, I scouted forums, and decided to try and reset the ribbon cables on the t-con board and even tried putting a piece of tape, yada yada, nothing worked. Now I have a screen full of colored vertical lines. I cant even get the ghost picture back up. I bought a new t-con board, the same lines still there. I cant see the menu, or any display, just these lines. I can change the source with the remote, it changes some brightness between changes but no picture change.

Any of you guys have an idea of whats wrong?

This could be a tab bond problem. Open the tv and search for the tabs on the panel and apply some pressure and see if it changes.

You sure the T-con is the right T-con? For example old one is V4 and you bought a V6.

Looks like Lcd panel failure to me, try unplugging one side of the screen to see if the other comes back. If not tear it apart to the panel and check the tab bond drivers one is probably on fire and shorted.

If 1 tab is failing it causes lines on 1 side of the screen. ( below the tab ).
This is either a bad connection between the T-con and the cable OR a bad panel. Temporarily fixable with applying some pressure on it.

Watch this, a shorted driver Ic can cause the whole screen to fail as it overloads the Tcon causing the whole screen to glitch not just one side if there is a loose tab bond could cause one side or lines on certain areas:

Re: I have a screen full of colorful vertical lines on my screen. Samsung UN55B7000WF

I visually inspected all of the tabs on the edge of the panel and didn't see anything that looked burned or loose, I didnt try pushing on them with tv on though. It went from ghost image to this with me messing with the ribbon cables that attach to the tcon board... I purchased the t-con board from a seller on ebay in china, took almost a month to get here. my board is a 02719k and the one sent to me is a 02852d. The seller said they are compatable.. the screen looks a little different when I put in the new board, instead of smooth vertical lines, it has some horizontal looking lines. Ive attached pictures of the screen with the old board and new board...

My question for you guru's, if it was a tab, would the entire screen go colored lines like this, wouldn't only a portion of it? Is there anything else that could do this?

I think reeceyburger already provided you with the "evidence" that it is possible / probable. As the video indicated, try touching the tab driver chip on each flex tab cable to see if you feel any difference... that's likely the "tell".

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
                by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Samsung LE32C530F1W with vertical lines on Screen
                by Kambi13
Hello all, I'm dealing with a Samsung LE32C530F1W that now has vertical lines on the right side. It started with a ghost image on the top of the screen and then I tried the old trick of masking a few contacts in the flat cable that connects the T-Con board to the screen with some tape. It worked for a while and now out of the blue it turned into what you can see in the pic. I was able to get my hands on a known good T-Con board but the problem still persists. Now, what I've noticed is that the cooper colored flat cables that are directly connected to the screen itself are very hot to the touch...

LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE - Vertical Lines on Half of The Screen?
                by ItalianSat
                Hello Everybody,

I have a 40 inch LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE. Its problem is that there are Vertical Lines on Right Half of The Screen.

Interestingly enough, when I move my mouse (in the case if connected to a PC) or when I am watching the TV, lines also move. At first appearance, I had thought that the problem might arose from loose vertical ribbons (COF), but when I opened up the TV for further investigations, I realized that the problem cannot be solved by touching them.

Moreover, I detached the T-CON board for a new round of investigation. I personally...

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...
