i have this beast (really heavy)being dropped to me this week its a friends tv which i said ill try and have a look for him its working fine but with SCART,HDMI inputs there is no picture being displayed

was just wondering if anyone has come across this model before ?

tested some voltages but it seems on the digital board all capacitor voltages are low and there should be 10 volts readings which are zero which turns on the fans or does this only activate once the tv gets hot ?
im wondering if this could be causing the tv too not to be working via all inputs ?

have you tried a factory reset? incase the user has messed with any settings

not yet but just asked my friend he said hes not messed with any settings the inputs just stopped working,but its strange that even all the Electrolytic Capacitors with Various Voltages are low and in the picture ive uploaded i have no reading of one point going to the main board which should be 10 volts also reading 0 volts
and even the 10 volts going to the fans are reading 0 volts

can anyone confirm the readings for these capacitors ill proberly change them all

35v 100=35v 100uf ? x2
10v 120 a66w=10v 120uf ? x1
25v 10 =25v 10uf ? x2
10v 270 = 10v 270uf ? x2
20v 82 a67r = 20v 82 uf ? x2

Unlikely to be a capacitor issue.
Do the user menus work? Just no picture?

you have a row of buttons on the bottom of the tv that all work to run through the menu etc but hdmi/scart etc do not work to bring up a picture

Tom should the fans come on from the start all when the system warms up ?

I can't speak for this TV but with the LG plasma I am working on the fans don't come on with switch on, just after a bit.

My dad has a PX-50XR5G (great TV, over 10 years old and still good) and the fans come on immediately after it powers on, a couple seconds before the display primes.

So with the fans not working which is linked with the 10 volts being dead maybe start with the power supply voltages ?

Unplug the little audio amplifier board (has speaker connections), see if that sorts it out. That was the fault with my dad's TV.

no tom unplugging both cables just gives me a red warning light on the power supply light up and the tv will not turn on
so i tried one at a time which worked but no fans switched on

Strange, because my dad's set has been running for the good part of 3 years with those cables out. It was a shorted amplifier causing a protection fault. The TV turned on with a no signal screen and occasionally would display an image but shut off immediately.

What did you do with this in the end mate ? Im possibly getting the same Tv soon wth similar fault would like to know.
