    Samsung le37b530 flickering backlight

    Hi,

I have le37b530 with flickering backlight. It has only one large 450V electrolytic capacitors. I'm reading 389v on it. I cannot see any badcamps.
The Powerboard is a BN44-00262A, the main is a BN41-01165B. What should I check?

    Thanks,
    Peter

    Unplug the main board.

Plug In the tv. The backlights should come on automatically.

    Do they still flicker?

I unpluged the main board, pluged in the tv. The backlights comes on automatically. It does not flicker.
At normal usage only the bright colours(white, yellow..etc..) flickering.

      What could be the problem?

      Thanks.

I am not convinced the problem is on the backlights, as I only see the left side flicker. Reseat the LVDS and Tcon cables.

              Hi,

I've checked all the cables but it still flickering. Also when I move the cables it does not flicker slower or quicker.
When I switch on the TV it flickers slowly. After that the flickering accelerates.

I've read the other topic. Which parts should/can I check without removing from panel?

              Thanks,
              Péter

on the ln series there are four sm resistors on the back of the main board, don't know if your set is similar or not. search ln52c550 flickering backlights and it is the fix for the ln series. I used 2 3m ohm 1/2 watt thru hole resistors to fix mine. there is a jumper you can cut as well but it bypasses the protection circuit.

So the BACKLIGHTS do not flicker? Then it will not be backlights problem.
'At normal usage only the bright colours (white, yellow..etc..) flickering.' bad backlights will not cause particular color to be flickering.

Yes, the BACKLIGHTS do not flicker. Only bright and vibrant colors flicker.

Does this use one of the as15 chips on the tcon..
Could be signs of it failing ?

There is AS15-HF chip on the tcon.
                          Could it be fault?

It is very hot when tv is on. How mach chance that the Tcon is bad?
I would repalce the Tcon is not too expensive. The soldering may very difficult for me.
                                  Tcon no.: FT-5537T05C09-9CL-0000NEP-03151-04
Is only this number with Tcon good for this TV?

Should be starting with a BN number. Look into shopjimmy, put in your tv and they have one or an alternative.

                                          Hello All,

My Samsung LE52B620 started to have backlight flickering about a year ago, it would only last for about 10 mins and then the backlight would stay on.

about a month ago the backlight flickering is constant and does not stop.

I think it's a problem with the power supply board (BN44-00267b) or maybe the backlight is dying?

I checked and all the caps look to be fine.

I do not believe it is a problem with the mainboard, since I unplugged it from the power supply and the backlight came out but still flickers.

                                          Model: QE82Q70RAT
                                          Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

                                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Symptom is dim backlight - this set came in with almost no backlight.

                                          Samsung UN55JU6500FX2A

1 - Replaced all backlight LED strips (set had lots of hours at level 20 backlight)
2 - Changed out what appeared to be a bad Q9102C on BN44-00807E - not shorted or burned but appeared to be open. I was able to read (with difficulty) the part number - however I may have misread it - Can someone confirm that this is indeed an AOD9N40.

Backlight improved significantly - about like it would be set to a level 3 or 4. Setting all the way to 20 seems to...
