Re: oCosmo Model CE4001-HM06P7A,....completely dead..no standby light....

i just tested the original board outside of tv that has a fried hdmi port the board will power on with remote control.only....so maybe that board will work just minus one hdmi port????.....i would figure the fried hdmi port would not allow to power on....but bottom line is at a minimum the push button power board is bad...when i get home i will test boards in tv and hopefully tv will actually power on.....would be nice .....the guy i bought tv from gave me the orig fried board and another board he bought...the one he bought is dead...i get no standby at all.....so thats why i bought another one...so i have 3 main boards.....and originally thought the one i bought was bad it did get standby but no power on....until the test i just did....so its possible the board is actually good..ill update....thanks for all help

and in the future if i get a standby light but tv wont power on at all....something as simple as testing with a remote can maybe rule out a bad power button board lol...ive never seen a power button board go bad ....and i have repaired over 50 lcd tvs

hey vince is there a possibility that the fuse blew on tcon from the power surge that fried the hdmi port on the main board? or is that a 100% no....

i already proved the power button board got fried from the

im not at home to check just curious

Try pulling one ribbon cable off the T CON to the panel on one side see if that side turns white then see if you have a picture on the other side try it this way and then swap cables and disconnect the other side

Take the frame off and check each tab bond driver with you finger see if any are burning hot if they are failed.

here is a pic of the unusual tcon board that appears to be not replaceable

the ribbon cable is permanently connected to the tcon and possible to the panel

now im confused....where does the ribbon cables attach if not directly to panel

here is a photo of the board out of tv from some ebay seller ....item was sold

but it appears it may be replaceable.....i would have thought the ribbons go from tcon directly to panel like most lcd tv i have seen

i cant find this part anywhere online at all..........nowhere

im hoping it may be replaceable and not diresctly mounted to the panel like i thought it was......usually the ribbon cables are directly mounted to panel and then hook up to the tcon via connectors....from what i have seen but this one the cables are mounted permananet on the tcon

i still do not know if the board is def or the panel is.or bad connection to panel...i fo get 12v at the fuse on the tcon but panel will not power on
