I've had this TV sitting around my house for almost a year now and the problem was usual buffer board failure taking out the ysus and MOSFETs on ysus. I replaced all and got it working finally but I noticed a great deal of image retention. It does go away and all present voltages are accounted for and I've checked the Yramp and Vsetup and Vsetdn adjustments against an o scope and all seem to be within range. Oddly I've done some research on the internet to find out that this particular model is very well known for having image retention issues. Vs voltages are normal and vscan is right on par.
This retention issue will present itself if there is an image on the screen for longer than 10 seconds once the image changes you'll see the shadow for a good 30 seconds to a minute afterwards. I can't really sell this TV like this and I've tried putting it in different modes and lowering contrast and brightness ranges to find out its still there. With all voltages being present and accounted for do you think this could be a possible panel problem? And all the plasma TVs I have worked on in the past years I have seen image retention but it goes away immediately. This one sticks around awhile. There is no maldischarge in the picture is flawless otherwise.
