    Hisense f42k20egb double picture

Since I can't seem to find anything about this particular problem, and I personally have never seen such a weird combined picture issue, I need some help.

    It's a hisense trash find
Panel looks good, power is good, responds to remote and displays/processes video from all ports. Here's the picture though in attachement 1.
We've got double vertical picture and a semi-light swatch in between.

Parts attempted: Everything except the panel or the tcon or power (Yes, I know I should have tried the tcon first, but I'll get to that in a minute)

Results: Since the mainboard was the easiest to find at the time, I started there - two different boards (ebay), both of them power on and create a strobe flicker in the LEDs backlights and a fairly loud buzz/click in time with the strobe coming from the power board. re-tested original board each time, starts up normally. Part numbers were a "near" identical match insomuch as all part numbers matched, except for what appeared to be firmware/software version numbers. I couldn't find anything on ebay that was an exact match.

Checked the TABs on the bottom, casual manipulation and pressure caused no different in the picture quality.

So I'm left with only tcon as I've determined power is unlikely, but in all the TVs I've repaired I've never seen this kind of picture corruption with a failed tcon, so hopefully someone can confirm before I go nuts trying to find the "exact match" tcon.

tcon on this tv is: auo chip, t460hw3 vf 460t03-c0k (silkscreened)
    tt-5542t13c14-23c-m006287-01105-03 (sticker)

Last question is, with the tcon is "close" good enough? Or an I going to run into another firmware/software quirk with this as well? Closest I can find is just the ones that match the 554t13c14 and all the numbers after that are different in all the boards I searched for.

OR, is this a panel issue and I should just stop now?

I have a video of the bootup of the panel: here, there's some annoying mic whine problem in the beginning, so turn your speakers down.

Did you try running the set with only ONE side of tcon plugged in ? If not, repeat with other side and report what you see.

Yes, with either side of the tcon pulled out, I get exactly one half of the picture, corruption/double image included. One of the reasons I wasn't sure it was tcon.

As far as eeprom, I can't seem to replace the mainboard without ending up with the buzzing/strobing backlight (it does not boot up or display picture beyond that strobing)

Due to the light/dark areas I would suspect panel myself but are you sure the tcon and/or mainboard are native to this set ?

All of the original components were inside when I got it, warranty seal still intact, so they are native components, and unless the tcon is only "slightly" bad, since it has two ribbon interfaces to the panel and I can disconnect either one or both, and the corresponding portion of the screen goes black, but maintains the double image on the other half, I'm likely to conclude the panel as well unless anyone else has seen this with these rebadged brands.

The tabs are on the bottom ? Have you done a close inspection to see if the Windex Fairy has paid a visit ?

There was actually a syrupy substance near the bottom edge, but no telling if it was before or after it was trashed. I did press on them, etc to see if it was loose at all, but I guess a short from liquid is just as likely. I'm probably just going to part it out. Shame too, I could have used a 42" tv. Thanks for the input though.
