    LG 60PZ950S weird problem

Hello! My Plasma LG acts weirdly. When I turn it on the picture is fully black, but the black starts to receed from the center of the screen to the edges slowly. After about 30min the picture is fully visible but it is still dim and colors are really pale. Color doesnt return to normal even after a longer period of time. Where can the problem be, anyone has any suggestions?

Why exactly z-sus you suspect? Any further reading on this? Also read somewhere both z-sus and y-sus are usually replaced together?

You don't need to replace the z and y together.
On Some Tvs if one fails it can take out the other, but that would depend on how the boards are linked up.

Your boards haven't shorted so aren't in danger of blowing other board, you probably have a faulty surfacemount IC.

dim picture and black splotches are usually classic symptoms of bad zsus, xmain,SS board depending on the brand on what they call them. As for mandatory replacement of both, maybe with the older IPM based boards but i would think doing just the zsus would be ok or do both if you're worried.

Ok, got it, I will look under the hood and take pictures of that. Is the failure of Z-sus usually visible or is it internal? Better to change the whole board I guess, not to try and tinker with fixing? Also the TV makes an irritating buzzing noise all the time and it changes in frequency when the picture changes, too loud to be a "feature" of the tv I think, can that also relate?

Wanted to thank alot for trying to help.

Found 2 discussions of the same issue, looks like z sus indeed. Will examine it further and comment later. Seems like in the second link, new z-sus did not help or maybe got instantly broken due to another flawed component? Any ideas?

                  Re: LG 60PZ950S weird problem

Want to update on the progress so far... Took off the Z-sus and yes indeed soldering of the coils was damaged like in the picture. The board itself looks darker around the coils probably because of the heat. Went to a repair shop and asked those contacts to be re-soldered, but that did not help a single bit.
Now I searched for a replacement board but cant find one, out of stock everywhere. Product numbers are: EBR73561701 and EAX64232101

However managed to find two repair kits:
                  http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-Z-Sus-Rep...-/131530589936
                  and an "improved kit"
                  http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Improved...-/191568197879

Do you think the repair kit should be enough to get the board repaired or not? Which kit is better, or should I just let the repairshop get all the needed equipment themselves? Also there is an adjustment knob on the board what is that for? Maybe I could troubleshoot the board with a multimeter? I can see a lot of data on the board of what is supposed to be expected reading from a multimeter, anyone has a link to a guide on how to do this?

Ic215 and ic216 drive ICs are included in the second kit.
If I were to replace anything it would be these two.

The rest of the kit is for for a completely blown z-sus with an open fuse.

Why not buy ic215 and ic216 first.

Got everything that was in the kit replaced by a professional (cost 60 euros)

Start your own thread, looks like a mainboard fault.
Need to run test patterns to be sure.

Hamie, I tried to start a new thread and it says I don't have permissions.
How do I run the test patterns?
