    Samsung LN32D403E4D

Can't find any info on this concern.

My problem is I get Samsung jingle upon turning tv on and get baclights but no picture. I checked fuse on t-con which appears to be attached to led panel. Fuse had continuity and ribbon cable to t-con had continuity.

I powered up unit and have no voltage at the fuse of the t-con. I am assuming the mainboard is the problem? Got one from Shopjimmy and still no voltage to fuse at t-con.

    Thanks

are you getting any voltage at the source? is the ps supplying voltage to the mainboard to power the tcon? you need to verify the ps is making all the voltages on the rail, most have a legend printed at the pins. if no then you need the service manual.

Thanks for the reply awyatt2. Couldn't find a schematic on this model and the pinouts don't make a lot of sense. Will need more research. you have given me another way to verify. Thanks

look at cn802 the connector going out to the mainboard .do you see an arrow pointing to a block with voltages? these are usually +_ a bit, but close so there you can check and know the voltages needed. if any are not present then you know where to start looking. two are ground pins so be careful to not short two pins and make matters worse. the pins read the same as the block top to bottom same order.

Thanks again fir the reply awyatt2. Yes I did see and check those voltages and they are,
          pin 1-12.77vdc
          pin 3-12.77vdc
          pin 5-12.77vdc
          pin 7-12.77vdc
          pin 9-0vdc (grnd)
          pin 11-5.22vdc
          pin 13-5.22vdc

the legend says 1thru7 should be 13vdc and 11&13 should be 5vdc.

You also need to get the readings on the even row pins also.

              Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D

the tcon is powered thru the ribbon cable if I remember right, is it seated properly and good. check both sides of the fuse to be sure there is no voltage there. it may be a fuse on the main doard keeping the voltages down. the surface mount fuses will be marked with the beginning f such as f102 fusible resistors usually fr prefix. I don't have the schematics on it and bud m would be better able to help you. he is the current resident pro on led and lcd. I like the plasmas.

                      Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D

Hey guys, thanks for the help. The main is a BN94-04416C and the PS is a BN44-00438A. I did reseat the ribbon cable several times.

                      pin 2=2.66vdc
                      pin 4=0vdc
                      pin 6=5.08vdc
                      pin 8=0vdc
                      pin 10=0vdc
                      pin 12=5.22vdc
                      pin 14=3.32vdc

Also, this may be a wild goose chase. I rechecked fuse at t-con and am getting 12.75vdc. It is so tight between the frame I may have not been getting a connection on the other end of the fuse last nite. So still no picture, just backlight.

                        Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D

OK, I wish you had put the pin names on the list also, so here they are:
                        pin 2 (P_DIM)=2.66vdc
                        pin 4 (N.C.)=0vdc
                        pin 6 (BLU_ON)=5.08vdc
                        pin 8 (GND)=0vdc
                        pin 10 (GND)=0vdc
                        pin 12 (A5V)=5.22vdc
                        pin 14 (PS-ON)=3.32vdc

So you have all the correct signals and Voltages but still no pictures on the screen, only the backlights.
The replacement main board is a known working board for sure? I hope it is not the LCD panel.

Sorry for not posting the names on the pins. I am not sure on the main. I got it from shopjimmy so I am requesting a replacement. I have purchased from them several times before and have had only one other that was defective. I also hope it is not the panel. This is the first unit I have tried to repair with this design.

Will update when I receive replacement board. Thanks so much!

Well, bad news. Got replacement board from shopjimmy and and still no picture. The only thing different that happens from the original board is upon power up sequence, I do get a white flash across the screen from the bottom 1/4 of screen while original board was just straight to backights, no flash of screen. So looks like panel is shot.
