    Zenith z42pj240 clicking/no power on/broken PDP

I was just wondering if someone could help me static test the power board, control, or ysus on this set. The panel is completely destroyed, so I'm not sure what is possible.

Have checked voltages at P103, and it seems like they are correct just before/after the relay click and turn off, which the set does about every minute or so. I also think I accidentally shorted across some of the pins at P103 with my probe while trying to test, but that just seemed to kick the relay again.

I've seen where you can static test the PSU on this with two 100watt bulbs, but I'm wondering if there is a simpler way?

    thanks for any ideas.

Anyone? How about a general strategy to static test PSU on a broken panel plasma?

Unplug the Y buffer, normally a cracked PDP can kill a Y buffer.

You can try connecting a 100W light bulb to the Vs and see if it lights up, but since Vs is 200V you will need a 240V bulb (a 120V one won't last long...)

Thanks Tom. Is the light bulb supposed to simulate the connection to a properly working ysus, buffer, and panel?

In another SM for a different model Zenith, I have seen a diagram showing two 100 watt light bulbs being hooked up together. Would that work (since I don't have a 240v bulb)?

You could also use two 120V bulbs yes.
This is just a load test for the power supply. If it can light these the power supply is working ok.
Va is harder to test, though I've never seen a power supply with faulty Va circuit yet. You could six 12V bulbs in series like car headlamps, most car headlamps have two filaments so you can wire them in series and use three bulbs as a 72V bulb on the 55V Va.

Thanks Tom. Since this is high voltage, I think I'm going to need some ideas on how to build a safe test rig, and one that I can attach to VS.

Does anyone know of any plans out there?

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
                  by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
                  cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

[SOLVED] M1 MacBook Pro clicking sound logic board 5V no power on A2338 820-02020
                  by slimmy182
Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).

I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

Looking on google I found this:...

Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have

Resonator - quartz broken - how to find the same (same frequency) ?
                  by corrize
Hello, I have a Fujifilm hybrid camera with an issue : the time don't run. I set 12:00 and 3 min later, the same : 12:00
I saw an obvious root cause : a broken quartz (resonator). But with the box broken, I can't read the marking code. Probably : 464… or A64…
I found on the web a picture of the same camera board but with marking code very different. Probably : A7…5N
I'm searching another one for compare…
Do you have an idea or another way for find the frequency of this resonator please ?
