Ok tell you what remove the jumpers and plug the Mainboard back in, check if you get 3.3v on the Vs on pin if not then the Mainboard isnt sending the signal these Psu's need 3.3v to turn Vs on.

with the main board pluged back in and the jumpers removed , stoll 0 Volts on VS-on

dont forget the fuse was plown on the power supply when i firts opened this set .

Have you checked the transistors mounted on the heatsinks ?

I know this might see like a daft question but you are actually pressing the "on button" on the TV.


I only ask because of you are, and you still have 0v on the vs-on pin, you appear to have both a faulty psu and a faulty main av board.

It's strange, although not impossible, to have both boards faulty.

What does the ps-on pin read as soon as you press the "on button"?

That is possible Hammie. I have had on a Ps50c450 psu shorted and killed mainboard shown similar symptoms as this.

no , I have no way of testing them but i can replace them

it reads 0v all the time BUT there was a piece of paper selotoped over the ON button when i picked it up

Ok so what's the voltages across the main primary capacitor.

It should be roughly 340v

Then put back in the jumpers, it should now rise to around 380v

If it doesn't then you have a problem in the hot side of the psb.

Yes measure across the legs of either of them.

Black probe on negative leg of capacitor, red on positive.

Then report back with your voltage.

reapply the jumpers. And check again, report the voltage.
