Is the T-Con or the driver board defective on Sanyo DP46840

I am working on "fixing" DP46840. When I got it, exactly half of the screen was black while other one worked just fine. I have gotten new T-Con board, and I have the same exact issue on same side. The only other thing that can cause this is defective driver board on the LCD panel, but I have never seen one fail like that. Is it possible?

Side note: When I unplug the ribbon cable on the dead half, the black half of the panel turns white. I am not sure what to make of that.

    Thanks for your input.

"but I have never seen one fail like that. Is it possible? " Yes, you have bad panel, probably the TFT driver ICs on the flexible PCB but all of them has to be bad.
But the half of the screen is completely black and no lines visible for sure, this is important info? Since it can still be bad T-CON, see example in the PDF.
You did try reseating the flat cable between the LCD panel and the T-CON?
What do you get if you only has one ribbon cable connected one at a time?
"When I unplug the ribbon cable on the dead half, the black half of the panel turns white" It should also turn white if the good half is disconnected also, is that what you see?

After I have posted this thread, I have started to take the TV apart to get to the drivers. As it turns out, someone was already inside this TV, as every second screw that holds the metal bracket around the LCD panel was stripped. I had the dremel them out, I was very happy. When I got past the first barrier, there was tape all over the tab bonds. I have turned the TV on, and one burned out right in front of me. Oh well,...

So, yes it is possible. After it burned out, panel gave out bars synonymous with bad tab bonds on the dark half. To the recycling you go; after I strip you for parts.

      Thanks for the reply.

As the to your updated post: No lines bars on anything on the half in question. Pure black (dark blue with CCFL's) screen. Yes, it turned white when I unplugged the ribbon cable in questions on the T-Con. Yes, I did try re-seating the ribbon cables.
