    Panasonic tc-p50x5 12-blink help.... please

    Hi,

First off thank you for reading this post.

So last night my Panasonic tc-p50x5 decided that it wanted to go black and leave me a nice 12 blinking red led. Needless to say the wife has now cannibalized my tv with her "amazing sows."

I have some electrical knowhow and have a multimeter, but don't know where to start? Could it be the power supply? If do what is the test output voltage?

Anyone who can provide ideas on what to text and how to proceed, I am greatly appreciative.

    David

I suspect 12 blink is audio so not a lot of steps to follow, Step 1 would be to disconnect the speakers at the A board if if it still 12 blinks then it's an A board fault. from there, well we'd need clear schematics to try component level or see if you can get another A board or repair by moduslinkpts.

Don't know much about audio or 12 blink whether it can be triggered by anything else. I would hazard a guess and say A board is more likely to fail than a speaker unless a cable has shorted somewhere. Don't get much to read about the 2012 models on here.

crikey , they call this an A board! things certainly very minimalistic in these last panny plasmas.

even if this is not the fault , at $24 I'd keep one as a spare and not be upset

these do have an issue with the PSU not waking up or loss of standby voltage. If 5v stdby is there then not this chip.

Pretty sure the 15V line is what drives the Audio.
