    toshiba 40 inch lcd tv with lines and screen fickers

    hi...need your help

    toshiba 40 inch lcd tv..

    sold a main board on ebay from a tv with cracked screen....tv worked fine other than cracked screen...no other issues...

    the buyer says board no good....he said his tv still has lines across screen and flickers

    since i know my main board works i know his issue is not a main issue......well im pretty confident....nothing is ever 100%

    what do you think?.....all input would be appreciated...i get tired of buyers on ebay that buy wrong boards and then want refunds inclduing shipping back.....it sucks

      my tv did not have lines or flicker....it just had a cracked screen......the board i sold him came from my tv

          You should ask for the screen shot of the image on the screen.
          People on EBAY use people like you and I for the board swapping troubleshooting, it is one reason we do not sell boards on EBAY any more, sick and tired of dealing with DIY that really do not know what they are doing.

              i asked him to send me a pic....we will see if he will

              but from what i said.....could it be a main board?....i know my main worked so.....

              to me it sounds like bad lcd panel / connections

                  you fix a lot of tvs....so what would be first thing to check with lines and screen flcikering?

                          If he has a couple solid Vertical or Horizontal bars, main board cannot be doing that.
                          Flcikering: Bcklightights flcker, that can be due to bad dim command signal. Bad T-CON is causing the images flicker?

                                      ebay is a great place to sell but have to deal with ebay idiotic rules....

                                          I just saw one TV repair company make short 1 minute youtube videos showing the board in a full TV working on video and they clearly mark the board with a marker. So presumably, if you are buying a working board, they link the youtube video with the unique marking.

                                          That way, the buyer can't say they got a non working board?

                                                  Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                                                  Hi all
                                                  I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
                                                  My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

                                                  This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
                                                  It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

                                                  So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with...

                                                  Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

                                                  My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

                                                  This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                                  As stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.

                                                  There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.

                                                  After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.
