can we get a picture of the A board. owned this from new? AB revision is looking like a 46" board. this is a 50S2, yes?

yep...i just watched the shop jimmy video of how to find suffix revisions...i assumed the "AB" located near the "SUFFIX" letters meant it was an "AB" version...but it looks like the jumber locations under the suffix letters determine the version...seems to me this is great news! thanks again TW

i guess it is because modus charge $180 for rev AB. Also means you won't pay $150 for the incorrect board

I too had a power surge jack my tv up.
I replaced the power board and media board (had no power) and now have a crappy picture. I then replaced the sustain and buffer boards but now have no picture (may need to return the sustain and buffer boards).
Should I try replacing thr sustain and buffer boards again or is my tv toast?

It would be in good taste to start your own thread instead of hijacking one. It leads to too much confusion for those trying to help the OP.
When you start the thread, include make, model, problem and any pertinent information as to how and when it died, and pictures of the back of the set with cover off and any boards you can show us. Then, the forum can help you out. Hope this helps and you find success in all your repairs.

I just wanted to close the circle on my thread and provide an update. I sent my A-board to Moduslink PTS last week. They repaired the board, and it was delivered to my house today. I just finished installing and everything works with the same beautiful picture! Is a slight hum coming from the P board and SC board normal when viewing a bright picture? I have never had the tv apart before, so I never was close enough to notice this slight hum and wouldn't know if it were normal before the lightning strike. Also, part of the troubleshooting process involved a standby light. I learned today after putting everything back together and turning the tv on and then off that there is no standby light. What I thought was the standby light looks to be the remote control receiver window next to the power light. So again, thanks to all who helped!

yes, normal. faint buzz on a SC at high brightness and would expect some hum from the P.
It's funny when you get up close and work on these once they've failed how paranoid you can get with buzzes. like you say , you just watch the damn thing, who gets up close and listens to the boards.

Hello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
                            Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
                            Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
                            Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
                            Diode D301 shorted
                            Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown

I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check 😀...

                            Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

                            Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                            by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                            by Alicat
                            Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                            Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...
