Sharp LC-40LE550U. Green light, but no picture/audio

This one came from a small lot of Sharp sets I got awhile back. I've noticed virtually all the Sharp sets were OK, but they are very finicky about damaged screens and powering on.

Wanted to ask about this one, because it's different than the larger sets. It has a small power LED, and that seems to be the indicator (as opposed to the V light on the larger sets).

When I power on, the led turns green, and stays solid. I also have light from the mainboard optical out. The IR appears to respond, as I can turn the set on/off from remote. However, it seems "blocked" somehow as no picture or sound of any sort.

Got the SM, and it looks like the panel could again be the culprit, but I'd like to take the boards as tested as I can make them.

The screen on this set isn't badly damage, and all the rest seems in good shape. Could a blown TCON fuse be causing this? Is it worth it to hookup something to the optical out to see if sound comes through?

Do you have backlights and the backlights are staying on but no image on the screen?

Show us the pictures of the back side of the TV then, so we can see what boards you have in your TV.

So what DCV do you have on all the pins (EXCEPT GND) of the connector CN201 when TV is OFF and when the power switch is activated?

Re: Sharp LC-40LE550U. Green light, but no picture/audio

I have one with no backlight. Sound and pic with flashlight. There are 2 connectors going to the LEDs CN202 (yellow) CN203 (black) Measuring to ground pin 1 of CN202 is 320V and the rest 280V. CN203 pins 1 and 2 180V, 2 and 4 120v and 0v on pin 5. Have heard of some being bad solder connections on LED driver boards in display. Any suggestions?

It was bad solder connections on the LED board. Resolder the connectors to the board. You will have to remover the display from the front.

Upload good clear pictures of the whole back side of the board.
is your board the EXACT same board as shown in my post #6.
OP never have follow through on the request in post 6 so you need to report the DCV readings.
You do have meter and know how to use it, right?

                        @budm Many thanks.

The power supply board is same (1P-0132X01-1010), after I open TV back cover. I also checked TV last night with little light. The TV can play video from USB memory with sound, and very weak images only seen with flashligh.

It seems back light is broken. I would like to check voltage as you suggested. But I am totally not familiar with the TV, only with electronic knowledge from high school. Could you provide any youtube video that I can follow? Thanks a lot.

I measured voltages with connected LED strips as followed

                          CN202 (yellow)
                          pin1: 338
                          pin2: 281
                          pin3: 282
                          pin4: 228
                          pin5: 227

                          CN203 (black)
                          pin1: 172
                          pin2: 172
                          pin3: 119
                          pin4: 119
                          pin5: 0

Without connection with LED strip as followed,

                          CN202 (yellow)
                          pin1: 338
                          pin2: 0
                          pin3: 0
                          pin4: 0
                          pin5: 0

                          CN203 (black)
                          pin1: 0
                          pin2: 0
                          pin3: 0
                          pin4: 0
                          pin5: 0

                          Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
